Alpinestars Celer Glove - Black
Customer Product Reviews
Bought 1 size up. Leather quite firm to begin with but the does seem to soften up and is comfortable. Fingers are slightly long compared to size of the glove. Having said that they are way better than any Furygan gloves I have bought which start falling apart within weeks of purchase.
They fit like a glove
I had Alpinestars' Scheme gloves before these (fabric and Kevlar) and they were a good fit after I had cut off the much too narrow thumbs.Gutted when I lost one of them. Wasn't sure I'd pick leather for a Summer glove, but with the perforations they are cool. And also light. Bought the same "Large" size, and was pleasantly surprised that the thumb was not over tight, though they are a little narrow in that area, so if you got big fat thumbs go for another brand. Finger length was O.K a little on the long side, but not so you'd worry. They do feel a little stiff at first, and as they have hard plastic knuckle protection, a bit unwieldy. I rubbed in some dubbing to help soften them and after 4 or 5 rides they are great. These are at my upper limit for light-weight gloves price-wise, but I do feel they are worth the cost, though as with everything nowadays, it would've been nice to have got them cheaper. You pays yer money yada yada yada....
Glove and customer service.
Customer service: excellent. Glove:Good. Quality of the glove is excellent. However the sizes appear to be a bit awkward as it's very tight on the hand, but long on the thumb and pinky finger. The glove is a bit stiff, however I've not had chance to really break them in yet which I expect the glove to soften up over time. The only reason I've scored this good as opposed to excellent is due to the sizing, but a quality glove nevertheless. SportsBikeShop have been excellent with their customer service and being totally honest, I've not experienced customer service anything like It. Great company. Highly recommended.
Fantastic quality and fit
Ordered a medium and fits like a glove (pun intended). Doesn't flow massive amounts of air but enough to keep the sweat away on hot summer days despite being full leather. The inside seams can be a bit abrasive and uncomfortable in the beginning but after about 100-150 miles they are well broken in and are perfectly comfortable for any amount of time.
Brilliant gloves with decent protection
As others have stated, go up 1 size for Alpinestars, I am typically size large but the XL glove is perfect. These gloves are a nice fit, lovely quantity leather, none of the fingers are excessively long. Always used long cuff gloves up until last year I bought some BKS Namib short cuff gloves and loved them, but wasn't 100% happy with the protection they offered. These Alpinestars are to replace them and they really are on another level regarding quality of materials and protection, I'd happily recommend these Alpinestar gloves.
Made in China
Very disappointed that these were made in China. I have cheaper gloves made in China and expexted at the price and description they would be made in europe. They are no better than the cheaper ones. Very tight cuff which prevents ease of putting on and off. I should have returned them
Amazing quality as with all A* products. Ordered Large same as my A* GT-S but those are a bit tighter especially in between the fingers which hurts after 30min of riding. They are leather, so I am hoping they will stretch eventually. I bought them for the summer, and they seem to be doing OK in temps around 25 degrees.
