Richa Rain Warrior Jacket - Black / Fluo Yellow
Customer Product Reviews
Added warmth for the frosty mornings. Wear a medium jacket so got this in a medium. Fits perfectly over my jacket, so helps keeps it clean. Folds up small so can pack it away in my backpack and is waterproof. Seems well made so should last, I hope. Bish bash bosh.
Good jacket, great value
Bought to replace a rain jacket of similar design. It is very well designed with pockets easily accessed. I bought it in advance of a winter trip to Madrid. Rain-proofing was not significantly put to the test but no complaints there, and it certainly retains moisture inside if you walk around for a while. Doesn't provide much warmth, be warned! An excellent purchase.
Ordered L size which fits over L textile jacket and fits well, arm length just right. Good quality but a bit bulkier than expected. Haven't tested it in the rain yet but have every confidence as it is well designed and made. Good neck collar length.
Great fit and quality & it is waterproof
I bought this to replace a previous Rain Warrior jacket (the black version). The previous one remained waterproof for about a year, which doesn't sound great but I used it every day during the winter (c. 240 miles/week) as an outer layer regardless of rain. The old one eventually started leaking. (I did try re-proofing but this made little difference unlike with outdoor/hiking jackets). I do feel like the fabric may be a little lighter weight than the previous one? But fit and so far waterproofing is equally good. These jackets feature full length Velcro and are fully waterproof. Not really breathable but that should not be the priority for such a jacket. I did try a Oxford Rain Seal (very briefly) but sent it back straight away as the fit was horrible on me and the fabric felt like it was about to tear - much lighter weight. I'm 186cm (6ft 1), 80kg and the size XL is quite baggy on me. But that's how I like it for fitting thick layers on between the jacket and my leathers!
Dry n Comfortable
Bought both jacket and trouser, used couple of days later on ride to ferry...stayed dry in pretty heavy downpour. Lining prevented being hot n sweaty so remained comfortable throughout the 4hr journey....'does what it says on the tin'.
Really disappointed with this jacket. Hoped I was replacing the lovely Richa rain warrior I used and enjoyed for a number of years. But as often happens, the current model has been changed. No doubt Richa will claim it's been 'improved'. However, I can't agree. The outer shell feels cheap now and horrid. The lining is too matt/grainy - for sliding over leather armoured sleeves. Too much friction, so that arm is jammed half-way down the sleeve. Tried a larger size; voluminous body yet the sleeve lining jamming just the same. Annoying. The only way to get it on was to remove leather jacket; insert it into the Richa jacket arm/sleeve by arm/sleeve, and then put on the two layers together. Imagine that carry-on standing by the road with rain helping to make everything stick together all the more. It may or may not be waterproof, but if I can't get it on easily and quickly, in my opinion it's not fit for purpose. I've asked for a refund.
Does what I wanted
I bought as a backup plan for if it rains while out but mainly as a wind stopper for my morning commute. So I can now wear a mesh jacket in the warm evenings and put this on for those chilly mornings and it works very well for that purpose.
Good fit for your regular size
Bought to go with the rain warrior trousers. Got my regular size jacket XL and fit lovely over my leather jacket with armour. Good length arms (important !) and nice length. Elastic waist draws jacket in nicely to stop flapping. This elastic is also is useful when opening the jacket for access as it pulls it back a little out of the way. Nice design for visibility in bad weather. Good price, cant comment on waterproof yet.
