If it feels like armour in your bike kit then the law demands it is actually proper, protective armour. Here's how to tell how effective your impact protection is...
Customers generally praise these trousers for comfort, warmth, and excellent fit, especially for taller individuals. They're appreciated for their weather resistance, performing well in cold and rainy conditions. Some minor drawbacks include the lack of pockets, occasional sizing inconsistencies, and some issues with elasticity and durability over time. Despite this, customers find them an exceptional value for the price, with easy returns and helpful customer service from Sportsbikeshop. Overall, highly recommended for their functionality and affordability.
1 star due to product not SBS.
Bought as an emergency pair Used once and binned
after 80 mile ride the waterproof lining that is like a rubble sack fell apart in multiple places, more than likely due to it been very poor quality ,the trousers are short even in regular length so yeah half masts on the motorway .
Product Is larger than size guide stated,
Knee protection is held in place via velcro making it hard to upgrade to a better standard
As they say buy cheap buy twice
Saw the other reviews saying this product came in bigger than sized but unfortunately found them tighter than expected ordering the correct size, disappointing as may be my only option and not throw away money, double check what you think you might be getting.
Rode for the first time in heavy rain yesterday, 30 minutes of riding stayed dry, great value for money and really comfortable.
Purchased end of Jan 23 and have hardly used them over the past couple months due to the weather. The elastic has started to loose its elasticity and inner parts of trousers have started to fall apart. Sent email to sportsbikeshop with images. Waiting on a response. Very disappointed with this Oxford product. Should last longer than 3 months.
I'm a big girl, 5ft 7 and size 20 in clothing; I purchased a pair of size 4XL regular length 'over trousers' as I call them and they fit really well. I wear them over my regular jeans and they are long enough to cover down to my boots when I'm on the bike. They are of course rather bulky when not on the bike and walking around, but that's what top boxes and panniers are for. For the price they are amazing.
Did have to buy some braces for the trousers but Amazon (£6:99) and boom, damm good pair of trousers that have been tested in the wet and were perfect,
Ride to work in the rain and stayed dry, rode home in 2°c and stayed warm, can't fault them, comfy on the bike and so far seen 15°c with work trousers underneath and still not too warm. May be a little thick for summer riding, but got jeans for that. Do what they should do perfectly
Love these, have had a couple of pairs now over the years and for the price they're great. Could do with pockets but not a major flaw.
Great price and perfect fit, always have the braces on anyway. No pockets though.
very comfortable when on the bike but when walking I found braces where needed but understand that this allows the size you go for to be flexible.
Great Price and Always great service from SBS!
I cannot believe the top quality of these trousers for the price! I am 6'3", 38 waist, 33 in leg, I bought the 2xl and they are a perfect fit! I ordered on a Sunday and they arrived promptly the next day. Great service! I will be buying more gear from Sports Bike Shop
Would be better if you could adjust where the armour is positioned. Bought hip pads as well these are to big to fit in lining pockets. Otherwise OK jeans belt loops would be good
I struggle with the knee pads on trousers fitting where they should and these do fit perfectly. Mixed opinions on the big elasticated waist, very comfortable when on the bike but when walking I found braces where needed.
The oxford subway textile jeans are very good quality and a great fit and excellent value for money.
Great product at a great price. Keep you warm, keep you dry. I wear them over normal jeans and all felt natural and comfy to walk and ride. Would recommend definitely.
Good fit, comfortable and at a great price.
Bought these as over trousers for the ride to work so I got one size larger than usual and they have a very good fit over my work wear, the knee protectors were a bit bulky to start with but have settled in now and are comfortable,
Trousers are easy to put on and fasten securely but I had to remove the thermal liner as they were a little too warm,
The waterproofing is excellent and the crotch is very well sealed keeps the rain out even in the worst weather,
I'm sure just like the rest of us I've overdone the feeding during lockdown and was in dire need of some new kit. Thanks to Sportsbikeshop for arranging, collection and delivery of a better fitting size of Oxford waterproof textiles! Great fit with the thermal linings, might actually need my braces to hold them up when I remove those! Lovely and toasty and kept me dry first time out, wasn't tipping it down but sure was damp so plenty of spray! Thanks again SBS!
