Richa Everest Textile Jeans - Black
Customer Product Reviews
Good value troos
Would struggle to do better at this price point imo. Managed to get a reasonable fit (certainly comfortable) at the second attempt. Returning the first pair for exchange was not a chore. Seem pretty warm with the lining in and no under-trousers - on a naked bike too. With the lining out: ok up to high teens / 20C. Thereafter a bit sticky and uncomfortable, but to be expected as there are no vents to open. Zip and velcro fastenings below the knees are great - able to fit my Alpinestars touring boots underneath no problem. The knee armour is comfortable enough but doesn't feel as if it would offer great impact protection. This could just be my perception. Hoping not to test this aspect! Supplied with naff pieces of low-density foam for hip pads. Immediately replaced with aftermarket hip protectors nicked from my old textile trousers, though I had to trim these to fit in the smaller pockets. Only worn in light rain for less than 10 miles so far so can't really comment on their resistance to leaking. All in all I'm happy with this product so far - ideal for commuting duties.
Well worth the money!
I admit, I made a mistake when I ordered them - I ordered the small ones and, even though I'm on a strict diet, there's no way they'd fit. I asked for an exchange, Sportsbikeshop sent a returns label and even sent me the correct ones.....FREE! I've worn the jeans for a while now and they're comfortable with loads of padding, they're totally waterproof and they're brilliant at keeping the cold mornings away from the vitals. Very happy :-)
Warm and waterproof
This product is realy what I was looking for, keeps me dry in London's rainy days and worm also, I had to remove the inner layer because they become to hot for this time of the year, overall great quality and good product for the price.
Showerproof rather than waterproof
Brought these as a second pair and wore during my Recent DAS. Very comfortable, wind proof and warm. We had one day when it rained the whole day, and these remained waterproof for the first couple of hours, eventually they let water through. I have midrange and budget climbing gear which describes itself as showerproof, I would class these as that sort of protection.
Ok for the price
Pretty decent trousers for the price. Ridden through 2 hours rain and stayed warm(ish) and dry. There are a couple of things I don't like though. The trousers only have one pocket on the right hand side and i'm a lefty which it's a little annoying, the other thing is that the velcro tightening straps. They do thier job but the waist fastener is 2 stud buttons (one off which broke within 2 days) and it feels a little flimsy when done up. I think the design should be changed so the tightening buckle on the right hand side should be attached to the end of the waist fastening material instead of attached to the main trousers. This would allow for the trousers to be done up and then tightened without the risk of the waist stud buttons popping open. Apart from these things, the trousers are warm, waterproof and as described. Not bad at all.
Best entry level
I was reluctant to buy these because of their entry level price, but they are the only entry level, waterproof, CE armoured pants with Short leg size configuration. I have bought 2 other size S pants before it in the higher price ranges and none of them fit me properly because of no leg size options and had to send them back. Sportsbikeshop has been amazing for this experience with its return service and quick refunds.
Just back to biking after 23yr break so had to buy all new gear for touring bike. These trousers were a good price and now that I have worn them several times, am happy to say that they are comfortable, warm, rain proof, so far and I find them to be a really good fit. Plenty of room at leg to get boots on, good waist adjuster straps on each side and firm clip fasteners.
Firstly sizing, came up very small on me, I am a 32-34 inch waist normally, and I had to go 2XL for them to fit. I went 2XL with the short leg and they were perfect and I'm 5'11'. Downsides - the crotch zip feels a little weak, I have only had the trousers a little while but I am already worried it will break, but time will tell. Otherwise good, they are light and easy to move around in. They are warm, yesterday was about 8c (celcius) and riding without the inner lining was fine, with the inner lining I am sure they would be warm enough for any weather. The armour isn't too hard or bulky, which means the trousers are comfortable and the armour sits on your legs well. They are a good, standard textile trouser. Time will tell if they and that zip last.
Good, comfy trousers. Appear to be waterproof so far. The bottoms of each leg flare a good amount when you undo the zip which makes them easy to get over boots. Only lose a star because the fitting is quite slim. Even still they're comfy, but getting them over a pair of regular denim jeans can be a bit of a struggle.
