X-Lite X-803 Ultra Carbon Puro - Gloss Black Carbon
Customer Product Reviews
First off, the service from the shop is great with fast delivery. So impressed with how this helmet fits feels like it is made just for me. First time with a pinlock I have no idea why I haven't before they NEVER mist up. ventilation is great. Looks the dogs with all carbon fibre on show.
Best helmet for the £££
Been riding with this helmet for the last 3 weeks in heavy rain and snow without fault. With all the ventilation and the included pinlock insert not even a hint of fogging. Even with no cut outs for speakers was able to fit my intercom with ease
I've always stuck with Shoei or Arai for the last 25 years with my last helmet RX7 which I was great. Needing a new helmet this time I wanted a change and ordered from Sportsbikeshop an AGV Pista and the X Lite. Directly comparing the two the X Lite for comfort and price was better on all counts (even the weight felt marginally lighter wearing). Quality wise the X Lite is very nicely made and has a lot of good ventilation features. I've use for 2 days on the race track and it visibility and noise is good. Definitely recommend this helmet.
Best helmet I've owned
So glad I tried this helmet, light weight, lots of safety features. I thought my agv was good then tried this! Looks amazing and I can see why it's a good seller! Unbeatable for the price, value is spot on. Rather comfy after breaking it in, good field of view, can't go wrong.
X-Lite is lite.
Great looking lid, carbon finish is stunning, plush lining, very light weight. Purchased an XL as this is my usual helmet size, it's a very snug fit and will probably loosen up with time. It's not a quiet as my Shoei, but when i tested this lid it was quite a windy day.. Vision is excellent as the visor apature is wider so more peripheral vision and not as claustrophobic as some other lids. If i have one gripe...It's the breathe guards supplied, you get two versions. These are fixed into the lining area with three tabs, but they seem a bit feeble and do come away from the fixings, especially when you are carrying the helmet around..apart from that little hiccup it's a great lid and you get a 5 year guarantee.
X-lite X-803 Ultra Carbon Initial thoughts
I've only had this lid a couple of weeks, but so far so good. I'm not going to comment on the graphics, you either like it or not, nor the fit. It fits my head nicely but you really need to try the thing on before spending this amount of cash. That said, the finish, both inside and out is exceptional. The first thing I noticed is how light this is. Compared to my 2014 Arai, this is very light. It comes with a Pinlock insert as standard that just clicks in if desired. The visor has a wide field of view and has a two stage closing system that can keep the visor open by about 10mm to aid airflow around the upper face. A nose cover breath deflector is also included. This just pops in and out as needed. The chin strap position is a little tight on my neck. It's not uncomfortable for me but it's more obvious than my previous helmets. Ventilation is very good with lots of air movement when the vents are open. Probably the best I've ever experienced. Wind noise is louder than expected. That said, this is a race inspired helmet not a touring one. It's certainly not deafening, but at decent speeds you might need ear plugs if you're a sensitive soul. It'll be interesting to see how this performs in the winter
Double the Saving
I really wanted one of these since the 802RR arrived. I held off for a number of reasons, one being they were not as feature packed as other manufacturers, for instance they didn't didn't have the latest emergency release system. That all changed with the 803. It's very light and very well made. I wouldn't say it's as well made as the more expensive offerings from Shoei, Arai etc but it isn't bad at all. If Shoei are a 5, the the X-Lite 803UC is a 4 for certain. It's a little tight as I went for a small as my head is 57cm, and SBS advised that the small was the one to go for, even though I was going for the medium. Turns out they were right. The small will bed in just right I think after a bit of use. The vent operation on the top is easy to locate, the chin vent however is a little fiddly with gloves on as the switch is a little small. The feel of the vent operation feels a bit cheap and give the impression they will break over time. The visor is easily removed and replaced once you get the hang of it. You can get a race visor from SBS and it suits the black helmet. The finish of the gloss carbon shell is excellent however and the effort certainly went into this part of the helmet. Feels and looks great quality. What steals it though is the price. SBS selling the black gloss carbon for under £300. So, I bought two, one for my partner too.
Great quality and super light
Great quality and nice finishes. It does fit snug compared to other makes/models but race helmets generally do. Visor has a push button release that makes changing them quick and easy (much better than my previous Arai that felt like it'd break every time). Best part about this helmet is the weight. It's one of the lightest I've tried. At the price point, it's hard to get find anything else at this level.
Absolutely over the moon with my new X- lite ultra carbon x803 the design colour scheme looks fantastic The wind reduction air flow vent system materials make this helmet great value the larger visor gives far better lateral vision cheek pad removal system a must well worth spending the extrs
Full Carbon - medium
For the price this is an excellent helmet. Not as good as a top spec Arai or HJC but fits really good. No fogging issues. Good visibility. There are no mesh linings so bugs hit the helmet and can make their way into the inside! Just hoping no wasps survive impact! But it looks superb, fits snug, and is lite as a feather! The design is super cool and for the price it's worth it. A medium is bang on for me and I've attached a Sena camera with no issues.
