Sometimes it rains when it’s warm. These are the gloves that give good feel and keep your hands dry…
This is my second pair of Held Air N Dry, 1st pair has lasted for years, used in all weathers always kept my hands dry in the rain & coolish in the heat. perfect for touring as no need to take multiple combinations of gloves, good level of protection. I've never used in the depths of winter. I Like the option to have different finger lengths, I've have large hands, I go for 3XL with long fingers and just right for me. the cuff wraps quite narrow to fit under jacket (Rukka) if needs be.
all in all - recommended.
I was looking for gloves that will last and what I found was that a more.
The gloves have great feelings and comfort and the gor tex inner lining is great.
My original gloves were also bought through sportsbikeshop about 10 years ago. In spite of age the original Held gloves are still a great glove, but have finally stopped being waterproof. Luckily they still make the same glove and when realised bought straight away. Tempted to keep using old ones and keep new ones for wet days and trips away.
They are more spring or autumn weather gloves as warm/ thick. Possible to use as summer gloves with the kangaroo leather being thin but durable.
These gloves work work from spring until the very cold winters days. I love the dual glove becasue if your hand gets too hot you can swap over to the racing side. If you get caught in a downpour you can use the gortex section. This is the second pair I have had of these and love them.
They feel great! Second pair I've had in a little ove ten years, hopefully the serve me as well for as long
I bought these gloves for a touring trip through France with the aim of using them as my default glove in middling conditions thereafter, but I think I'll generally stick to using a summer glove and mid-temperature glove most of the time.
Like other Held gloves I've had, they're very stiff from new and are challenging to get on despite the sizing being correct. The sizing has changed quite a bit since my last Held gloves ten years ago and I've gone from XXL to L with long fingers with the finger length allowing me to go down to the correct palm size which is good as it reduces wrinkling.
The airy part of the glove flows decent air but the palm gives less feel than my summer gloves and the liner for the dry compartment compresses the ends of my fingers, leaving them quite sore at the end of a long ride.
The dry chamber keeps all but the worst rain out. We had a day of torrential rain and the tips of the fingers were getting slightly damp by the end (on a naked bike) but not significantly so. The problem with this compartment is that it takes away lots of feel and the holes for the air section still jet cold air onto the liner, so it's less warm than my other mid-temperature Held gloves, which offer better feel. The other problem is that much less of the heat from the heated grips gets through to your hands than with my other dedicated mid-temperature gloves and on my naked bike I needed the heated grips at 11C.
So, they're useful if you don't want to carry two gloves, but dedicated summer and mid-temperature gloves are better in every way.
This is my second pair. First pair served me for years and buying the second pair was the easiest decision I have ever made.
They are great gloves and to me are all seasons gloves - especially if you have heated grips. No need to carry second pair on long tours.
They are very well made and full of quality. They come in short size fingers as well so the fit is great.
The visor wiper always useful.
Start a chilly morning ride with hands in the winter pocket and when it gets hots switch to the summer pocket - mates really get jealous :-).
Expensive but worth it and you get 2 pairs for the price of one ... :-)
I love these gloves. As a year round rider, they are true four season gloves with the possible exception of the very hottest and very coldest wet days. Used with heated grips and the "air" side they keep my hands very warm and the "dry" side is the usually infallible Gortex.
My issue is a worry over longevity, mine lasted well under a year before developing a small tear. Sportsbikeshop however replaced them very quickly and I was happy to "risk" another pair as they are so good.
I absolutely adored my old (Mk. 1) pair of Air N Dry gloves but after many years of sterling service, I wore the index finger through on my throttle side gloves. Bought a pair of Mk. 2 gloves recently and as before, they fitted brilliantly and allowed incredible feel whilst simultaneously feeling like my hands were armoured (which ofc, they are, heavily). Same fabulous versatility and of course, totally waterproof when used in the "wet" compartment. Oh, and did I mention that Held appears to have reinforced the index finger?!! In summary, I can't imagine riding without these gloves, I love them that much. Expensive but worth every penny.
Held are expensive as everyone knows but the quality shines through. I usually buy xl size but had difficulty getting them on so went up a size. If possible I always find it's better to try a couple of sizes with any bike kit as each manufacturer's sizing interpretations differ. Bought these in winter so not used yet but I'll soon be finding out if the two chamber concept does what it says. As usual sportsbikeshop service is first class and I always buy my gear from there if I can.
Very good gloves with the twin chamber system
Had a pair for seven years and only had to replace them as the lining became detached
The only thing I'd like is different sizes ie L needs to be slightly bigger as they do take a long time to break in!
I have worn Held gloves for years so no hesitation in buying these because I knew they would fit like a glove (arf!). Not yet tested in terms of waterproof capabilities or in extremes of temperature but very pleased so far. The only criticism I have compared to other Held gloves I have owned is that I would like more leather and less textile in the construction, particularly as they are not cheap.
They work! Just as well because it's a hefty price tag.
Great fit and both sides comfortable straight away.. First day I wore them it was hot & sunny in the afternoon and heavy rain in the evening, so got to try both sides. Breezy one way, perfectly dry the other.
Only negative is the visor wipe on the index finger is a bit flimsy, I thought.
I was dubious about these 2 in 1 gloves to begin with and thought they would be difficult to get on and off and would be uncomfortable in use. I went to the Harlow branch to try them on as spending over £200 on gloves warranted a real try before buy. I needed the M size with short fingers, there wasn't one in stock at the store, I had tried the medium with long fingers and, frankly, they felt cumbersome and unwieldy, the shop assured me that they would get the correct size the following day and text me when they were in. The following day the text arrived so I visited the store, immediately they felt comfortable and fitted my hands perfectly. So I bought them and have now had a couple of long rides with them, on both occasions it was cool to begin with and then warmed up. So halfway through the ride I got to try the cool side, they worked beautifully either in warm mode or cold. No need now to take two pairs of gloves on my rides and these gloves have some really clever and discreet ventilation ducts to keep my hands cool on hot summer days.
