Introducing… Schuberth C5 ANC helmet

Schuberth joins Cardo's noise cancellation revolution - and their C5 could be the quiet rider's dream ticket

Hot on the heels of audio specialist Cardo announcing their own motorcycle helmet with Active Noise Cancellation comes Schuberth's equivalent - using the same Cardo ANC tech.

The Schuberth C5 ANC helmet is an adapted version of their flipfront helmet, prepared for the audio kit designed to cancel out wind noise without muting traffic sounds.

The C5 ANC has the same 53mm speakers with built-in ANC revealed by Cardo last week when they announced their Beyond GTS and Beyond GT helmets.

The system detects unwanted sound frequencies and adds in opposing frequencies to silence them.

There's been huge interest in the concept since Cardo told the world about it, but much comment has focused on Cardo's lack of track record in helmet manufacture. The partnership with Schuberth, with a 71-year history in making helmets, will go a long way to addressing those concerns.

Schuberth are also the firm with the biggest focus on reducing helmet noise through conventional means, making them the perfect partner for Cardo's new tech.

The Schuberth C5 ANC is promised in spring 2026, and prices have been announced already.

The helmet and audio kit will be available separately, for £639.99 and £499.99 respectively.

When bought together in the UK, the audio kit becomes VAT-exempt, bringing its price down to £419.99 – or £1,059.98 for the complete helmet-and-comms package.

Disappointing news for owners of existing Schuberth C5s is that they're unable to retro-fit the ANC kit to their helmets. The ANC version has a different impact liner, comfort padding and wiring routing.

The audio set-up is based on Cardo's Packtalk Edge unit, which is by far their most popular standalone intercom, with the addition of the ANC functionality.

The C5 ANC will be a simpler proposition than Cardo's Beyond GTS, focusing on audio benefits rather than adding a whole suite of electronic features.

So if you're drawn to extras like a brake light, LED running lights, crash detection, SOS calling and wireless charging you'll need to opt for Cardo's helmet.

But for a mixture of proven helmet design and groundbreaking technology, the Schuberth-Cardo tie-up offers a great alternative.

More details will be available when the Schuberth C5 ANC lands in spring 2026.
