Cardo's intercoms are already hugely popular, and their new range-topping Packtalk Edge promises a huge haul of tech improvements
Many customers appreciate the clarity and connectivity of the Cardo system, citing its superior sound quality and ease of setup compared to other brands. The automatic mesh connection and reliable battery life enhance group communications. While some noted minor issues like complex instructions or bulky components, the voice command functionality and robust design receive praise. Customers moving from other systems report noticeable improvements, though a few experienced technical challenges. Overall, many find the Cardo systems reliable for long rides and group tours, despite some room for improvement in accessories.
My previous Cardo is the slim, this is quite a bit better, it connects to my phone without prompting, I don't need to turn on music manually before a ride, and you can say "cardo mute mic" which I've found handy on my commute to work as sometimes singing along prompted odd results from the slim, there's also a 'C' connection for charging and downloading that is more substantial than the old micro socket on previous cardos, although this will download via WiFi, another plus, the mounting plate is magnetic so it is impossible to mount the unit incorrectly, and holds very firmly. I have used this in all weather's during winter so can confirm it is waterproof, can't wait to see if it's "sun proof" ;-)
I recently purchased the Cardo Packtalk Edge and I'm thoroughly impressed by its performance and overall quality. The sound clarity is outstanding.
The build quality is top-notch as well. The intercom feels solid and durable, designed to withstand the rigors of everyday use. The installation process was straightforward, and the device has stayed securely attached to my helmet. The buttons are responsive and easy to use, even with gloves on.
Battery life is another highlight, lasting for long rides without needing a recharge.
Have to say, great service for great product. For me, spending more really is the best call. Can't find much to fault on the packtalk edge.
Fantastic bit of kit and first class customer service from SBS Preston, the staff are so helpful.
Quick delivery, ordered this as a tool for a film shoot where I paired it with the edgephones. Was able to reach a higher level with my work. Very happy
As expected of SBS Reading Staff, amazing.
Was wary as to the quality of one of these on the bike but very impressed so far. Music and satnav are great and clear. Yet to try the mesh system chat but have high hopes. I would definitely recommend.
Before buying these i did my mod1 mod2 with these horrid ear pieces
I decided there and then there isn't any pount in having a device that just makes noise but you can't hear the content.
The packtalk edge not only puts sound in both ears, you can hear(with clarity!!) Buy now i promise you will not be disappointed.
My only regret is not checking the differences between this and the pro version, i still dont want to torture myself by finding out as i love these and have no regrets.
Crystal clear wide
Wide volume range
Easy connect
What more do you need?
Great talking on the phone with my wife, again great quality..
Cardo Edge bought to replace my Cardo Packtalk Bold
Is a definite upgrade easy to self fit, neat magnetic attachment, easy to use/setup
Sound quality is excellent.
Would definitely use Cardo again.
Searched I few different ones before deciding on the packtalk edge and I wasn't disappointed easy to pair to phone and easy to connect to group riders good range and crystal clear audio would buy again if needed.
This is my first foray into helmet comms & I'm pleasantly surprised; the fitting is straightforward, the quality in use, excellent. The Cardo unit is completely waterproof (as opposed to showerproof of the competition); its also easy to use with gloved hands. The distance it works (between riders) is excellent & the MESH connections simple.
This has been one of the best intercoms I've had.
Easy to fit, clear sound, nice neat size.
Whole family has one of these and has excellent bluetooth connection between each set so we can chat, give directions, or warn of any hazards on the road.
Before purchasing this Cardo Packtalk Edge, I ordered another, cheaper brand. It broke in the first few months, plus the sound wasn't very good. This Cardo on the other hand is superb both in quality and sound. This difference was incrediblle, like Ford to Ferrari!
Very happy with it, wish I had saved some time and purchased it first.
Very pleased with the product and the service from retailer
While it might not be the latest and greatest, this is still a top tier piece of kit. I have the new pro, and picked this up as s second unit. It's almost as good, and significantly better than the Senna I had. Easy to install, good speakers, intuitive button design.
Bought to replace a packtalk slim that had failed.
Was easy to install as helmet had performed indents for speakers. Had to go with the stick on mount for helmet as clip very rigid plastic - previous one was metal and could be manipulated to give better fit. Seems well stuck on so will see how it preforms.
Software/app is easy to use and updates the unit via Bluetooth so no need to plug into a computer.
Just hoping the charging usb port, which has been changed from a micro usb socket to usb c, lasts longer than the old unit did.
Usual excellent service from sbs
Amazing sound quality. Great connection range with intercom. Easy to install and set up.
Which one to buy!?! So many choices out there.
I think that I bought the right one, as not only can I do a mesh connection with all my other mates but we can also bring in our Sena wearing mate via Bluetooth- and it was easy to do. Download the Cardo app to your phone and everything does become easy to sort. Would recommend as we are now good to go with Cardo group and ability to bring in mates on Sena
This is supplied with both a wired mic, and a boom mic.
This does indeed have a lithium battery.
We can confirm that the Cardo Edge would be compatible.
We can confirm that the Cardo MESH / DMC is only compatible with Cardo devices, unfortunately. However, this device will connect with any Bluetooth headset of any brand, rider to pillion for example.
Find it cheaper at any major motorcycle accessory retailer, online or in-store and we‘ll match it.
