Feels premium, visor opening is frustrating

This is a seriously cool looking helmet, and I get a lot of comments on it. Having had shoei helmets for the last 5 years I was little concerned this wouldn't feel as premium, but I would say it is on par.

Fit - In my shoei RYD I was a size large so I opted for the same here. It is a little more snug but I wasn't sure if this was because my last helmet was well used. I ordered an XL for comparison but this felt too roomy and I was concerned it wouldn't be safe. The shell is also larger and it looked massive on me. Now I have used the L for a few rides it feels like I made the right choice. A very comfy lid.

Noise - I wear moulded custom ear plugs so I don't concern myself too much with this. I wouldn't say it's a loud helmet, certainly no more so than my shoei RYD. I guess a peaked helmet will always be noisy and it all depends on your bike and riding style. Certainly not an issue with this helmet.

Comms - I fitted a Cardo unit and there are nice channels and recesses. The opening in the side of the helmet for the cables is too small to fit the cable connectors through so is quite pointless, otherwise a nice idea.

Visor - Sun visor is good but could do with being slightly darker in my opinion. Perhaps it's a legal thing? The visor itself is the let down on this helmet, it's either fully shut or halfway open, sitting right in your line of vision. It means you can't ride along with the visor slightly cracked open at the bottom for air flow. For me the only option is fully open or fully closed, very annoying and hence only 4 stars.

Happy overall but I time will tell. Very good quality for the price point.

Airoh Commander 2 - Matt Black Airoh Commander 2 - Matt Black
Bought this as a helmet for when I'm out and about on my 411 Himalayan in low winter sun. The peak works great in low sun and to keep the rain and low branches out of your face, and the wide visor gives a much better field of view than my road-riding Shoei.
The only grumble I have is that although there is a port for inserting coms wiring, (fantastic idea, and even comes with a blanking plate which accommodates the wires when fitted), this is just a bit too small for the Cardo earphone jack socket. I ended up pushing it through after a bit of swearing, but it chewed up the rubber on the jack socket. Not a major drama, just somewhat annoying.
Fitting is excellent and I take the same size as I do with Shoei. A nice, snug fit. Not as noisy as I thought it would be after reading some of the reviews, and despite what some reviews say, the recess for Cardo earphones do actually fit them perfectly.
Sun visor is excellent, as is the ventilation, though I have not yet worn in summer.
Overall absolutely excellent lid - better than I had hoped for, and as always a first class service from SBS

Airoh Commander - Boost Matt Neon Yellow Airoh Commander - Boost Matt Neon Yellow
After many months of comparing, searching and trying on, I finally settled on this one. I got the yellow colour because it was too good a deal to ignore, however I actually just wanted a white one. Much quieter than expected, super comfortable, easy to set up with Comms. Yes, the sun visor is a little fiddly at first, but once you're used to it it's grand. Love that I can use it with goggles.

Despite not having one in stock to try on, the guys in Sportsbikeshop Birmingham were super helpful in directing me to either try on somewhere else order online to try in store.

Great looking helmet and so light you don’t even know you’re wearing it. Definitely recommend to other bikes and it looks great on an Adventure Bike.

Really nice helmet, easy to adjust, comfy to wear. Issues with visor fogging. Played around with vents a lot and doesn't seem to resolve. I need to buy an anti fog film

Not cheap at £35 but does exactly what it needs to by giving fog free vision even whilst sweating inside the helmet.
