Airoh Helmets

Went from an old Arai to this. Love the lightness and visibility and the drop down sun visor is proving a real bonus. Colour is really loud, but at this price, can't complain, and sure to be seen. Had a medium with the Arai, but went to large for this helmet - medium just too snug.

Great field of vision, like the removable top visor thing a lot as it really helps to keep the sun off the fave/eyes, main visor is easy to move up and down, but I like to ride with it open a lot so the internal sun visor comes in really handy - which is also easy to operate with an external switch. D ring fitting. And plenty of padding to help with comfort but designed to allow air to flow around the helmet. I needed a new helmet after damaging my Arai and to be honest I watch Itchy Boots' travel and she wears on of these - so was "influenced" - but I am very happy with it - apart from one thing - I wear glasses and sometimes getting the arms of the glasses into the helmet can be a fiddle as they can disappear into gaps between the layers of padding rather than between the padding and my ears. If it was not for this irritation it would be 5*s.

Light weight, nice fit, MIPS style protection, I had an accident while wearing one of these, took a substation hit to the head above the right eye, the shell didn't crack, show the marks of the impact but did its job. I was so impressed I bought another to replace it.

Really comfortable helmet that fits true to size, all included accessories work well and helmet supports comms well, recommended. Thanks sportsbikeshop

Great Fit, Love the colour, plenty of Vents for air circulation, Works well with my Sena Blue Tooth
as has all the holes already for the ear pieces. Only snag is the hole for the Wires to go through the helmet to the head unit is too small for the connector. Apart from that 5Stars

I've been out with this helmet a few times now and have used it in a range of different riding conditions.

Overall, it's a good helmet and there are plenty of things to like about it. However, after spending some time with it, I've come to the conclusion that it just isn't quite right for the type of riding I do. For context, I ride a DRZ4 and split my time fairly evenly between road riding and light trails.

Unfortunately, I don't think it really excels at either.

The top ventilation isn't great. As soon as you start doing anything even slightly physical off-road, heat seems to build up quickly around the top of your head and doesn't escape particularly well.
The visor positions could be better thought out. The gap when it's cracked open is too small to be useful, while the next position lets in a lot more air than I'd like. It feels like there's a setting missing in between.
Wind noise is reduced, but it's still noticeable. I'd definitely still be wearing earplugs on longer rides.
It feels caught between two uses. I can see it working well for riders doing long-distance adventure touring, but for more active trail riding I'd still reach for a proper MX helmet.

In the end, it's a comfortable, lightweight helmet with great visibility, but for the mix of road and trail riding I do, the compromises in ventilation and visor design mean it doesn't quite hit the mark.
