Visors

For the price of the Nolan 100-6, I was a bit surprised at how easy the visor got scratched when I hit my head on a fuel pump while filling up. It was my own fault, but I did not hit it that hard, more of slide glancing blow, and nothing sharp. So, I had to get a new visor, this one. These are not as easy to remove from the helmet, need to have to give each side a good hard tug to detach it, and with the helmet mechanism seeming very fragile, I was expecting another order to get that replaced. But I did manage to remove the original visor, using a plastic lever. The new visor was not too bad, but again, it needed a good press to get it in place. I have had several helmets over the years, HJC, Shark, Schuberth and a Roof to name a few, I have never had such a hard job removing a visor. It's a shame, the Nolan is comfortable, but I am not convinced of its' construction.
But, the visor was well priced, delivery was quick, normal SBS service, I cannot find anything negative to say. I will just have to be a bit more careful when out and about.

But a bit expensive. Nb. The Schuberth visor mechanism is poor. I use rubber O Rings to stop the visor slamming shut at low speed - despite replacing the visor and both "hinges".

Much more conveniant than switching between 2 visors or having to carry the extra. Doesnt go full dark tint but enough to make a difference. Better for me as usually leaving for work in the dark and returning when light or vice versa.

Good value and fits perfectly. I'd previously bought one off ebay which was a bit cheaper but woeful. I bought this Shark visor as reduced to £45. I thought that seemed reasonable and great visibility. I also bought a pinlock as it steams up too easily when cold but I'm sure if just used on a sunny warm day it'll be fine. It has a pale blue tint to the plastic but just right if you're sensible and just use on bright days. The reflective metal coating is just on the outside face, not like the stupid chinese ebay crap I returned (so dangerous).
