Spada Enforcer WP Glove - Black

Never too much of a good thing

Spada attempts to walk a thin line between quality and cost. Well, they haven't lost their balance. These gloves are exactly that. They are not the highest quality gloves you'll own, but they are OK, in fact, they're rather good. They are also not the most expensive, nor cheapest. I get the impression having owned a few Spada items now that what Spada do, unlike any other manufacturer, is state a price that actually reflects the cost of manufacturing. Unlike Alpinestars or Rukka who continue to over charge for their products despite quality falling just a touch below average. To wear, the gloves are comfortable, fit well (sizing chart is pretty spot on) with one exception, I get a little extra space in the top of my thumb and trigger finger, not enough to hamper operating switches, but it's noticeable. You we be neither excited nor disappointed by these gloves. You pass over some money, you get gloves, job done.

Great lid from Spada

This is a nice looking lid, graphics are cool and the interior shell is nice and soft. Visor can be opened with one hand and keeps the sun and wind out. I brought a size Large which I normally wear but this make feels a lot snugger them normal, and it's a little harder to push sunglasses on with the helmet on but hopefully the inside will stretch a bit with use. Overall for the price I can't fault it, and it came well protected and with a helmet bag.

Pleased with it

Worn it for ~3 weeks now and happy with it. Size wise, I'm 6'1" with 42" chest, not particularly big or slim, but possibly on the large end of "Medium". For me, with the inner lining still in, the Medium size is sort of a "snug" fit but has still allowed me to wear a sleeveless body warmer on top of a polo shirt for my early morning 30~40mn commutes at temperatures down to ~10c°. Lengthwise, from the top of the collar it's ~21" at the front and ~27"1/2 at the back. The waterproof overjacket is well made although the cuffs velcro adjustment isn't all that well designed. Having already tested it under about 35 minutes worth of light rain, it seemed capable to protect me from heavier downpours. When folded properly and tucked in it's back pouch/pocket, it adds a little bulk but, although I prefer to put it in my top box if I think I'm going to need it, it certainly doesn't feel uncomfortable. With temperatures above 25c° today, I finally got to wear it without the lining. I must say that I was expecting a bit more airflow through the mesh panels but, I ride an adventure..."ish" style bike with a screen currently at the highest setting so, I'm guessing that you would get a better flow of air on a naked bike. Having said that, my ride was certainly a lot more pleasant than if I had been riding with my "plain" textile jacket, even without the lining. I ride mostly around a mix of rural and extra urban roads as well as unrestricted dual carriageways~motorways and for that, I am happy that it'll be suitable. If you are riding more often around an urban~city environment, you might want to look at something with a bit more "aeration". There is one inner breast pocket on the lining. On the jacket itself, there are two side pockets and one "chest" inner pocket, they are on the small side but it just occurred to me that, at a push, you have quite a large one at the back where you would normally keep the waterproof overjacket :) I liked the fact that it came with elbows, shoulders and back armour. Although it's early days, the jacket seems to be well made and overall, I'm happy with my purchase which I also consider to be good value for money.
