Stuck on whether to go full-face or open-face? Flip-overs let you have both in one lid...
Was not really aware of flip over helmets as a concept, and never really liked flip up touring style ones as looked too bulky.
Oozes style and quality compared to other options that looked a bit “Transformer” for me.
Simple flip over function gives best of both worlds. Flip back when cruising through town, for open face feel, and flip down again when back on open road.
Love it!
Good price, fast delivery and packaged amazingly.
This helmet has good looks, it is very comfortable. It is nice and light, It's reasonably quiet as far as helmets go.
Opening the chinguard you will need both hands because there is a release clip on both sides, closing is so easy. This helmet would benefit from having an internal sun visor added.
The worst and most important part of this helmet is the visor.
It tells you that is an anti fog visor but if it starts to get cold outside it will gather condensation in less than 5 minutes and becomes dangerous in my opinion, especially when it is dark and raining. I purchased this helmet for using all year round but found I can't use it now and nobody seems bothered about the visor.
So to sum it up, only buy if you are a summer rider.
Great helmet and just what I was after. As far as a flip up helmet goes, for me its perfect. I am going from a Shark Evo GT, and although there was nothing wrong with it I have always loved the aesthetic look of the Boxxer 2. Firstly, the carbon light weight is very noticeable. I am no longer pushing against the wind with my head when riding.
It seems quieter than the Shark, maybe because of the tighter more snug fit (feels more comfortable too because of this). That said, when the top vent is opened it is the same sound as having the window open in the car to me, so remains closed. I don't mind this though, as having just the front vents opened is enough.
I wear glasses and again, very comfortable with no issues, also, there is plenty of room for the larger JVC speakers that Cardo provide.
The mechanism, very simple, again something I wanted as occasionally the Evo GT mechanism is a bit fiddley. The Shark Evo GT is slightly better in the respect you can open it using one button. I previously heard that this helmet could not be slipped up with hand, however if you unclick a side at a time you can.
Overall it is a very comfortable helmet, yes noisy at times, but nothing I didn't expect - I have been riding since 2012 and have always had a flip up. Plenty of ventilation and definitely looks the business
This helmet replaced my old Shark flip, i did try the LS2 but didn't like the fit so SB returned it without hesitation.
This Roof in L is a great fit with or without snood. I like the fact you have to use 2 hands to flip the lid as it's a safer mechanism.
Only reason for 4 stars is the top vent can't be used without an unbearable wind noise. Close the vent and it's absolutely fine. Also an inner visor would be welcome but not sure how they could do that in this design.
The lid is light, looks amazing, is the talking point when i meet biking mates and has lots of features.
I'd defo recommend you check them out if you are in the market for a flip up lid
