CTEK MXS 5.0 Automatic Charger & Maintainer

Ok my first CTEK smart charger was in 2006 to accompany my new Odyssey AGM motorbike battery .... My 2006 purchase / CTEK smart charger lasted 2.5 years ,then a replacement charger FOC under CTEK's 5 year guarantee , the replacement CTEK charger in 2009 lasted 4 years with minimal use .
I then went to a Maypole smart charger, that charger has just died in May 2025


So thought I would try CTEK brand again after contacting their customer service / product advice in Sweden / my contact was quickly answered so no problem with this Ctek company not supporting their product , CTEK also indicated within their 5 year guarantee it is split , first 2 years you have to contact the original seller in the Uk , then the latter 3 years of the 5 year guarantee you contact Ctek direct in Sweden .


So I purchased this MXS 5.0 charger in late May 2025 from Sports bike shop

Used it so far on 2 x car batteries / 1 x van battery and also ried the new Ctek mxs 5.0 charger in motorbike , Recond AGM mode to see if the Ctek charger would revive my 19 year old (2006 ) Odyssey PC680 AGM motorbike battery .... which it has done so just fine

So early days for me giving the Ctek charger brand another try nearly 20 years down the line .
The design of the charger has not changed externally much in 20 years but I presume Ctek have refined / developed the charging system / programs internally within my new 2025 MXS 5.0 Ctek charger


I also purchased the Bumper 60 protective cover for the new MXS 5.0 charger and I was please to see I could also re-use my 2006 Ctek Cig charging adaptor to connect into my 1999 motorbikes dashboard power socket to charge the battery


( As Bristol my nearest Sports bike shop is a 200 mile round trip ! )
thus ordered on Sports bike shop online at 1 pm and the Ctek charger and bumper 60 was with me in Devon Uk the following morning with Royal Mail , superb service by both !

" Better motorcycling course " refresher at Cheltenham police station in early 2002 , The officer said " You need to just treat all other road users as if they are out to kill you and you will always ride defensively "

Compact, sturdy. It's great that you can use the eyelet terminals or the croc clips (which are well built). Great that it's all automatic and once it reaches a certain stage you can just leave it on. This will be ideal for leaving on a car that's off the road over winter.
