Reviews After more than 2000 road miles our verdict on HJC's new flipfront helmet is in...

This is my fifth helmet but my second HJC. Its my second flip front my first being a well known and expensive brand. I enjoy the flip front and my first HJC was my go to helmet for comfort and finish. This second fits all my tick boxes. Its beautifully finished, well made, feels like quality from the box to sitting in my head. Cherry on top was the unexpected inclusion of a pinlock insert. I have yet to insert the pinlock because the variable degree of ventilation clears the visor so well. Its comfort level is as I had hoped, the same as my first HJC. I truly cannot fault HJC hats. I doubt I'll use another make. Price point is terrific bang for the buck at the sale price I paid.
This my second HJC Rpha helmet. I previously had the 90S. The new 91 is lighter carbon fibre construction. It has a plush lining and easy opening flip front mechanism. Very happy with the purchase!
Excellent quality, comfort, with great visibility.
Vents and sun visor easily operated.
10 out of 10
Quiet, fits me well (Shoei and Schubert did not, for which my wallet is grateful). Discontinued coulourway bought at 35% discount. Came with pinlock in the box (advertised as pinlock ready). Was able to fit my existing original Sena 50R rather than buy the integrated HJC Smart 50B.
I tried on a few similar helmets and to be fair this was not my original 1st choice, but after comparing it to the others it was clearly better suited to me !!
The build quality and packaging was excellent! The color is matt finished, which the pictures initially misled me to believe that it was glossy. However, it's a handsome looking helmet. The delivery was spot on and sportsbikeshop even obliged a 10% return as the prices were revised as part of the black friday sales.
My first modular helmet, feel a lot more comfortable than my full face helmet.
Sleek design, well priced compared to other top end helmets and a quick delivery
I purchased this helmet after extensive research, comparing such things as weight, quietness, ease of use and features and it ticked all my boxes. I have had, in the past, high end modular helmets i.e. Shoei Neotec and this HJC compares favourably in all aspects at half the price.
My first non-Arai helmet, bought solely on reviews and I couldn’t be happier. First modular helmet, too. The fit is perfect, the inners are soft and comfortable and it’s very light considering it’s modular. So far, an excellent lid.
Good helmet with great features, eyebrow vents are great. Super easy to fit a comms system (Cardo Freecom4x. Well built. Sizing is good. Have not yet had it out so can’t comment on wind noise however with my cardo playing music I am unable to head anything over the music so I have no doubts it will be quiet. Came from a flip front carbon LS2.
As with all helmets, you need to try them on before you buy, as we all have different shaped heads. This hjc rpha 91 is the most comfortable helmet I have ever worn and I have tried a lot of helmets in my 67 years.
Superb feel and fit. used with a sena intercom that was so easy to fit.
everything feels classy on this helmet, the latch is sublime.
the sun visor however whilst looking dark is relatively useless.
Not liking the claustrophobic feel of a full face helmet I've been wearing an open face. Then I tried this on and this is a game changer! There is a gap between my chin and the helmet when the face is down so you dont feel as claustrophobic. Really comfy helmet and thoroughly recommend
Bought in the sale at a very reasonable price. Good quality fit and finish. Only used for 200 miles so far in dry weather. Quieter than my current Scorpion helmet. Only downside I can find so far is ratchet mechanism on the visor could be stronger.
Very comfortable, padding is spot on
Its very quiet compared to my scorpion exo flip
Ventilation is excellent, just need to remember ventilation equals more wind noise you can't have quiet and an air tunnel flowing.
I wear a cochlear implant and find this helmet very easy to get on without moving my processor. I have coupled this with a sena 50s the sound quality is excellent even at fast motorway speeds.
Ive done 250 miles with this lid and loving it
Very comfortable for me. Easy flip up design with locking mechanism. Carbon looks awesome, although I think chin bar is carbon effect print.
For those looking at this HJC helmet my head shape fits HJC, Xlite and Nexx so if you get on with them then you’ll be fine with this. It’s a perfect fit, very comfortable and has some great features. The top and rear fents shift a massive amount of air so if you like a cool bonce this helmet will be ideal for you. The flip up chin bar works very nicely and smoothly. The peripheral vision is up there with the best and the drop down visor action is both smooth and mechanically accurate. The weight is no more than other top quality helmets in this price range and it’s not noticeable at all when wearing. It’s an expensive helmet but well worth it and certainly one of the best compared to the equivalents from Shoei, Schuberth etc.
