HJC Helmets

Lovely fit, good guality, nice touch to have the speaker recesses makes a good fit over the ears. Internal dark visor operating mechanism is an improvement over the previous model, and although this has been mentioned in other reviews, the main visor ratchet mechanism feels flimsy and not positive enough, hope it can hold the visor in the position when open.

Just a faint noise when the air vents on front of helmet were open

I tried on a few helmets at the Milton Keynes store and found the HJC F71 to be a perfect fit for me. I consider the comfort as the most important factor when buying a new helmet. The internal sunvisor switch is located around the bottom edge of the helmet and is easily operated when wearing thicker winter gloves. Field of view is very good and the pinlock visor fitted nicely.
Considering the price point, the construction quality is actually very good. It would have been great for the visor to not rise too much on the first stop as it almost impacts my vison but I can just about manage with that.
It is also easy to open with winter gloves.
The exhaust vents at the top are a little tight to operate with winter gloves but will be easier with thinner summer gloves.
The Matt finish paint quality is good though it may rub off easier that a helmet with a more glossy finish so care is needed with storage and carrying it around.
My wife also tried on this helmet in another colour variant and she found it to be the best fit of the ones she had tried on. So she also bought one of these.
The price at the time was very competitive too which certainly influenced our decision to buy this helmet.
