Advice & Guides You can’t take two helmets on a trip, can you? Oh wait, maybe you can…
Customers praise this lightweight modular helmet for its comfortable, secure fit and well-made finish. The 180-degree flip-back mechanism is smooth and easy to use, while the visor system, included pinlock and accessories add real value. Several customers appreciate the long-oval shape, good ventilation and quiet ride, though a few mention snug cheek pads and some wind noise. Overall, it’s seen as a premium, versatile choice for touring and everyday riding.
Love this helmet light weight comfortable
Recently upgraded to this from the basic LS2 advante which was also a great helmet the LS2 carbon is very comfortable and so much lighter to wear....I would highly recommend
I've worn Shoei helmets for nearly 30 years and have rarely wandered from the brand as they fit me perfectly, and the quality is always high. In the wave of recent hot weather periods we've had this year, I decided something more airy was needed... and saw this LS2 Advant XCarbon on my social media feeds and thought "that looks cool, but I wonder if it is as good as it looks". Jumped onto my favourite biker gear website (Sportbikeshop) and saw they deal them. I love SBS's system of "try before you buy", especially with helmets as it's too expensive a mistake to make if ordering online before you've tried one on. So, along with a new jacket I ordered from the MK branch, and both items were ready for trying on just 2 days later.
The helmet was a very good fit from the get-go, and I found it comparable in fit to my 2xl Shoei GT Air3 lid. The interior looks and feels of a high standard, and being carbon fibre the lid is nice and light despite having the added weight of the flip system components. In the box came an extra dark visor (clear visor pre-fitted to the lid), and a pin-lock insert ready for the colder weather. The whole package also comes with an LS2 branded rucksack to carry the helmet in, which I found highly useful on my recent trip to Spain (flight over with my family for the annual holiday, and rented a bike for 2 days to go up into the mountains).
The weather over there was as hot as England has been, and having the flip-over option was a god-send in slow traffic around town and even on some of the faster routes it was brilliant to have. When the pace got quicker though, I had the lid in the full-face mode, which naturally made it quieter and a nice place to be at speed. I would say it's fairly quiet as helmets go - I forgot my earplugs on day one, but it wasn't too bad and I didn't end up with tinnitus at the end of the ride, which is more than I can say for my Shoei.
Overall, I really like this helmet. The price is £200 less than I paid for my GT Air 3, and although it's not a like-for-like helmet, the LS2 has impressed me. Glad I bought it. And it looks great in carbon black with the black visor on too. Happy with the purchase, and happy to have used SBS again as they are always great in the MK store.
Exceptional product. Order one size up for the best fit. It is quite light weight was not expecting that but got one.
Very light but a little noisy without ear plugs at motorway speeds. No regrets.
I have no complaints what so ever. Just fitted a pack talk edge to it and it was a doddle all padding removed and reinstalled easily. Very comfortable on long rides.
Generally very well made helmet and appears to be high quality. Good ventilation and easily flipped back whilst riding. Quiet and stable on my RT.
Very please with helmet. Just got from a tour in France and I'm very pleased with it in all aspects. Very comfortable fit, very lightweight (first helmet I've owned that I don't get a neck ache. Vents work very well. And the all round vision was excellent. Did find the neck strap a bit fiddly to start with but soon got used to it.
This is my first LS2 helmet, and I am very impressed. It is light, easy to use, and very good quality. The inside is very plush, and it is a very comfortable helmet to wear. I particularly like the ease with which the visor can be removed and replaced, and the ratchet mechanism on the strap. Like all modular helmets (and I have had a few!) there is some wind noise, but I always wear earplugs so that isn’t an issue for me. Overall, I really like this helmet, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a flip-over. As ever, Sportsbikeshop customer service is second to none, thank you.
Fits well and feels nice and light. The mekenisum to flip the face up feels solid and there is a removable section of the foam to allow you space to pack in the cables for intercom systems.
Overall feels like a premium product.
Purchased as needed a lighter helmet. As yet not used over a length of time , however, it is certainly slot lighter than my Neo- tech. Tight fit at present but I’m sure that will slacken as lining ‘beds in ‘. Looks good snappers well put together had a wee bit of bother fitting the Pinlock, not sure why as I’ve fitted a few over the years. originally ordered LS2 comms, however these were on back order so I spoke with SBS and changed to Cardo Packtalk…staff were great and extremely helpful. Couldn’t fault the service provided.
It's great comfortable and the 180 flip makes the helmet convenient and easy to use when adjusting at lower or higher speeds the built in sun visor is great and also easy to use with the slider on the side and easy to locate ...would highly recommend
Super lightweight helmet
It’s really good all round, lightweight comfortable, good air flow, good quality, no dislikes
For years I've been riding either with a full face or open face helmet depending on the weather or type of journey. I like an open face as I feel less enclosed but don't feel comfortable at speed or on a motorway. The Advant X is a great idea, in slow moving traffic or in town I can wear it open, then, as things speed up I close it. The generous, wide angle visor doesn't make me feel too confined and it's a quick simple action to open and close. Being made from carbon fibre its light to wear and gives that reassurance that it will tough and impact resistant. The build quality is great, everything feels like it is well made and well designed. I tried a few other brands before I settled on this one and they all felt cheaper, a little less ergonomic, or less comfortable. I haven't tried it in the rain yet.
comfortable, light and the flip over is really good when travelling through town, stopping for a drink, fuel etc.
Very comfortable had to go next size up
Bought this for my daughter. Comes with box, carry bag and inner bag. Really high quality feel and nice and lightweight.
Wind noise is minimal. Has been a big success
