Advice & Guides You can’t take two helmets on a trip, can you? Oh wait, maybe you can…

Customers have shared positive reviews of the LS2 Advant X Carbon modular helmet, highlighting its lightweight design, comfort, and versatility. The helmet's 180-degree flip-up feature and secure locking mechanism are particularly praised. Many customers appreciate the quality construction and clear, easy-to-switch visors. Some note that the cheek pads are initially snug but tend to loosen over time. The helmet’s overall value for money, aided by included accessories such as multiple visors and storage bags, is frequently mentioned as a significant advantage.
Perfect fit, snug really comfortable. Easy smooth operation of the flip back, visor and sun visor. First ride with it Sunday to the coast, it was a cool 8” to 12” through the day with mist/fog. Helmet performance was perfect, no misting up and the Cardo Edge can be heard much clearer than my previous two helmets. Great helmet highly recommended.
The fit for this helmet is superb and exactly to my preference; strong fit around the crown and the hairline with a firm cup around either sides of the jaw. Leaves the ears with a lot of space so it’s perfect for a comms kit. Obviously this is more of a half face that becomes a full face, as opposed to other flip fronts which are full face that become a half face and that only sort of. The design is exactly what I want as I have usually had the latter. The soundproofing is not too bad; I haven’t missed my previous helmet and occasionally forgotten to put earplugs in. I love the metal slot clasp, with other helmets this is usually just hard plastic. Absolutely love this helmet.
Good fit, light, good options. Great all around will do what I want when I want. close face, bad weather (speed). Open face sunny day (town speed). Perfect 1 dies it all. Feels quieter too, but not done motorways.
I can ride open face or full face. Really easy to open and close when riding.
I have used my LS2 advent x carbon helmet for two weeks now and found it really comfortable and I haven't needed ear plugs with the helmet in full face mode all round very pleased with my purchase many thanks
Stylish, functional, beautiful carbon subtlety showing through the black surface and five year guarantee!
Fantastic speedy delivery and always happy to help the customer. Buying with total confidence. Best bike shop ever
This is a stunning looking helmet, its light and the gloss finish is flawless. Inside the padding and cushioning is a little snug , so if you are a medium I would advise buy a large instead, all internal inserts can be removed easily to fit your choice of intercom or buy it already fitted. The visor system is clever and easy to use, and to change the main visor is a simple quick process, the one downside is the internal dropdown visor sometimes needs two hand to retract if it doesn’t go back straight.
After 40 years of Arai helmets this one hasn’t disappointed in any way. Super lightweight, well made and very comfy if a tiny bit snug to start with. Ordered online in my usual Arai size(M) but proved to be a size too small. So I took it back. No problem with that. My return was managed by the lovely Sandy who ordered me another one from another branch which was promptly delivered. In summary, the first class delivery and customer service I’ve grown accustomed to with this excellent company.
I needed a 180 degree flip helmet to use while training others to ride. My full face helmet was just too limiting and a flip that locks open is just heavy at the front to wear. This carbon version is light and easy to wear all day.
The quality of this helmet for the price surprised me. I went to the Harlow store to try on comparative products for fit and decided for the price this carbon helmet with its features met almost all of my needs. Then went home and ordered online as they don’t stock the carbon in the shop, was with me the following day.
Pros:
Great fit. Good quality cheek pads and linings were important as this will get high use.
Visor is easy to remove to clean properly and is bigger than most. I loved the opening system.
LS2 comms were a really easy fit. The cheek pad poppers feel really secure.
Carbon finish is really nice.
Cons:
The extra dark visor supplied I am not convinced is road legal
The magnetic lock on the ratchet strap is bulky.
The flip down sun visor has a strange hue when in direct sun. At first I thought I had left a protective film on it, not the best clarity.
Others:
Comes with a great cover bag and also an included rucksack.
5 year warranty register online.
Overall this is a great comfortable helmet. Better than an open face as the sides are longer than an open face giving better protection if worn open. Sizing is tight. Shoei GT-Air3 I a have a Small, in comparison the LS2 I have a Medium.
Love the weight , 180 flip front , peripheral vision and the colour. Very comfortable and not as noisy as some say it is. Very practical design.
Chin ventilation is lacking and doesn't do a great job , but is adequate. Head vent is brilliant and exhaust works a treat. A little tight when chin closed , but not uncomfortably so , will bed in after usage. Living the helmet
Great service from sports bikes as per usual. Thank you
Beautiful helmet. Well made and light weight
Well i've only owned the helmet for a couple weeks but so far there's absolutely nothing I dislike about This helmet!! I did purchase the carbon fiber.
It is lightweight I already have a Cardo talk And everything went together awesomely( Good word right) Extreme.
Ly comfortable great Great red and blue colors on top of the carbon Viber. Killer backpack killer bag, 2 windscreens and pinlock on top of all that you can ride with it open in the 3/4 position.
I don't believe you'll be disappointed. Fits long oval heads really well. The only reason I gave it four stars is because nothing is truly perfect but it's pretty close! Often I'll keep the shiny side up.
This is a great light weight flip up helmet, I've owned one before, a different brand. These flip up helmets are always a little noisier thana full face helmet bit i can definitely live with this helmet. The flip up goes right over to the back so easily. All in all a great helmet.
I'll admit I initially bought the non-carbon version of the Advant-X, but was a bit disappointed to find it weighed more than I expected, and on my scales, more than claimed. I was coming from a Shoei NXR which is a light full face lid, at 1300gms, and I really thought I would find the difference a problem. So SBS kindly refunded me and I ordered the Carbon instead. My head measures 61cm, so an XL size is fine for fit, and considering I am just into the upper shell size, it weighs 1605gms on my scales, which I am happy with, and is nearly 190 gms lighter than the non-carbon version.
Having only 2 shell sizes does mean it is a physically big helmet though.
A 180 degree flip-over was important for me and it works beautifully, and is easy to operate with one gloved hand.
The cheek pads make you look like a baboon sucking a lemon, as ever, but I'll either stitch them back or get used to it.
The gloss black is glossier than the photos, and while a black helmet isn't perhaps the best idea, there are some reflective stickers in the box that'll keep French cops happy.
The black spare visor is definitely not road legal, so not quite sure if I'd use it, but the small rucsac bag supplied is a great extra to have. Overall I'm very happy with this, my first ever modular.
If you're looking for a solid modular helmet that doesn't weigh you down, the LS2 Advant X Carbon Solid Gloss is a great pick. The full carbon fiber shell keeps it super light for a flip-front, so you won't feel neck strain even on long rides. The 180º rotating chin bar locks securely in place, giving you that true dual-functionality without feeling flimsy.
Ventilation is solid, keeping you cool on warm rides, and the visor system is top-notch—clear and sharp with a Pinlock included to prevent fogging. Plus, the drop-down sun visor is a lifesaver in bright conditions. Comfort-wise, the lining is plush, removable, and glasses-friendly, which is a big win for riders who wear specs.
If I had to nitpick, wind noise is a bit noticeable at high speeds, but that's common for modulars. Overall, for its lightweight build, versatility, and premium feel, this helmet punches well above its price range. A solid choice for touring and all-season riders!
Nice styling and like the extras, dark Pfizer and backpack also a very good fit
