You'd be surprised how many riders wear a helmet that's too big for them. Here's how to tell if a lid really fits you...
Customers praise the helmet for its comfort and versatility, emphasizing its snug fit and lightweight design. Many appreciate the accommodating features such as integrated sun visor, large viewport, and adaptable peak, which enhance its usability for both on- and off-road riding. While ventilation could be improved, and some find the visor mechanisms fiddly, these are minor issues compared to the overall high build quality. The helmet also provides good soundproofing, especially when using ear plugs. Overall, it offers excellent value.
I've had top of the line helmets from the major brands and this is the best helmet I have owned !
Simple !
Can't fault it.
If you're thinking of trying one......just do it !
The Commander 2 is a great all round adventure helmet. I have over 2000 miles in it now and have to say it’s the most comfortable helmet I have . Very low buffet at speed, excellent features and easy on and off. The only 2 faults I have is it is a loud helmet so plugs always. Secondly in high temps you really don’t want to close it up as ventilation is not enough to cope closed down if them is over about 28C
Not the quietest lid but great airflow and very plush lining with generous front chin space for breathing/hydra pak sucking.
Really happy with this helmet, it’s light great fit, looks great, good vents ,I would say wind noise is quite a lot with visor down. The view out the visor is amazing. Highly recommend
Got this at a discounted price after having my eye on one for a while. Completely comfortable straight out of the box, I normally take a large and a large was perfect. It has an exceptional field of vision, and I'm enjoying the sun visor and the 120 pinlock. Its very light and the quality feels top notch. Only cons include the small recesses for comms headphones which meant changing my headphone size down from 42mm to 30mm for my cardo and fitting the cardo comms unit generally was a real pita. Bizarrely the cardo sticky pads really dont want to stick to the plastic that airoh uses inside the helmet but I found a way past that. Having used it for a few months, I am absolutely delighted with it and would recommend this helmet for adventure riding.
I went to Sportsbikeshop in Glasgow to try the helmet on for size before ordering online as the colour I was after wasn’t in stock
Like: light weight superbly comfortable, true to size and very good looking helmet Dislikes doesn’t come with the allen key to take visor off
What to like:
* View port is huge, so much visibility you almost forget you're wearing a helmet
* Very comfy helmet
* Surprisingly quiet for a peaked helmet.
* Zero vibrations from the peak at high speeds.
* Good ventilation from the chin vent.
What could be better:
* Top vents don't seems to do much at all
* Sun visor isn't dark enough
* The comms port on the side is very tight getting the Cardo connections through. (It will go though)
* The speaker cutouts are a fraction too small, though they still fit.
Overall, great value helmet with a lot to like.
Quality finish light weight
I looked at several before I settled on the commander 2. Straight out the box it felt comfortable, looks smart,. The peaks helps with the sun and with Visor open and internal sun visor down you get a nice bit of breeze coming in.
Straight lines it sits nice no buffeting, side winds can make it wobble a bit but that was minor.
Noise wise it isn’t much different to my X-lite 803rs but I always try to wear ear plugs.
Would highly recommend one if your thinking about this style of helmet.
It’s a narrow opening so be careful. It fits true to size otherwise. Comfy and pretty quiet.
It does what it says on the tin, plenty of ventilation and good all round views
I have never paid more than £200ish for a helmet, so this was a fair stretch fir me. I have to say, it was absolutely worth it. It's first outing was a full day riding different bikes both on and off road and I completely forgot about it. That's how comfortable it was. At first, I thought the cheek pads were too tight but after a wearing it a few times, they've bedded in nicely and I no longer notice them. The sun visor is easy to use and sits at the right height. All in all, a great helmet, just make sure it fits YOU...!
Having worn the helmet for a multi hour ride the day after purchasing it was super comfy (only minor issue was needing to readjust the cabling of the intercom behind the cheekpad). The field of view is great. Love the look and the build quality feels high.
Gripes would be the lack of quick release visor or peak, noise of the peak vibrating (probably fairly standard but without a quick release you just have to put up with it) and also the peak doesn't extend far enough to block sun unless it's directly above you. For me none of these are a massive issue.
This is a great helmet for the money. Very light, very stylish and very comfortable.
The pinlock visor included with the helmet is superb and I was amazed by the improvement of view and vision from the visor. I have been using goggles for years and also needed more protection. The beauty about this lid is that it can adapt to be a road helmet, adventure helmet and full off road helmet which is clever. It is also fully prepared for comms equipment.
I recommend it for sure.
Although a bit more snug than expected initially, once broken in this helmet fits like a glove.
Great helmet for the price ,very comfortable and well made, without being overly heavy. Helmet arrived well packaged and within the given timeframe, great sevice, from sportsbike shop.
