Givi V58NNG - Maxia 5 Monokey Top Case - 58 Litre

First off, the case when it came was open in the box, this caused the lid to be chattering on the plastic catch while in transport, and one of the latches broke off.
I did a live chat on the internet and all was sorted out, with dpd picking it up from me the next day, and a new box following on a few days after that, no messing about.
The case is nice, it has a good space inside and i have found it to be ideal on my gtr1400.
i am not to sold on the catch mechanism since it did break on the first one, but on the looks and space inside it great.
If I had this and the old style case side by side, i mite go for the old style if it was the same 58lt because the old style ones are tried and tested and do last years.

Bought this as it is bigger than my 52L Maxi that is now over 20 years old. And needed for a trip to Europe. However noticed straight away when getting it out of the box that the lid doesn't fully close and leaves a gap which is more noticeable when the handle is up and the case is sat in the suitcase position. Whereby the old Maxi would snap shut leaving a strong closed seal all around the lid. Too late to contact Sportsbikeshop and exchange as this was needed asap. And also I have paid for this via Klarna. Also the actual lock catch mechanism is plastic and very thin and can easily snap, again compared to the old Maxi which is metal. Very disappointed. Felt more concerned about leaving some of my more expensive personal items in the case unattended at service stations such as camera gear and laptop, as after the trip into Europe and opening and closing the lid. The gap of the lid and the bottom of the case has got bigger and is noticeable when passing. The only positive thing I can say is that actual key lock and the key have improved. A friend has a similar design top box which is 72L from Temu. For half the price. Which uses the same design key, has a metal locking mechanism and also has a snap lock fitting. Probably made in the same factory? I also purchased the backrest. Which sadly had issues as 3 of the bolts in the backrest were not sat level and were sitting at an angle and therefore the screws that were drilled through the premarked holes were not able to fit nor be secured and therefore had to resort to doubled sided 3M tape.

I bought this after borrowing a 48 litre box which was a bit tight for what I want to carry. This is not much bigger in the actual dimensions though gives a large increase in internal space. It is better designed as it is newer and I have also bought a matching internal bag, which will make a huge difference in usability. It also looks great!
