Advice & Guides If it feels like armour in your bike kit then the law demands it is actually proper, protective armour. Here's how to tell how effective your impact protection is...
Initially these appear quite heavy, especially when you consider they are for summer riding, but once you wear them this isn't noticeable anymore. The armour is quality and, again, isn't obtrusive when worn. Lots of pockets! More than you need really, but all but two of the eight - yes eight - are zipped so will be secure. The lower pockets look a bit baggy in the stock photos, but they aren't too bad actually. There are zips and velcro at the leg bottoms, the zips being at an oblique angle - a bid odd and not immediately intuitive, but not a deal breaker. I looked at several different trousers online before trying them; this pair was kind of low on the list, but I'm very glad I chose them as they seem pretty near perfect
Came across Spada at a bike show. Thought the products were well made and looked great. Always struggled with hot legs whilst riding in heat for long periods, so thought I would buy the combat Air textile trousers. Absolutely the best decision. They are so comfortable and the airflow is amazing. First ride on a 35 degree day for 7 hours and they performed well. So well that I have now got the jacket.
Love the Spada product.
Really nice fit, air flow is fantastic, very comfortable even after a long ride. Only this I don’t like is the knee pads keep sliding to the inside of your leg and can get very sweaty
