Advice & Guides You'd be surprised how many riders wear a helmet that's too big for them. Here's how to tell if a lid really fits you...
New RHPA72 looked smart and fitted ok. Little tight to start with but ok now. Helmet is really noisy. Far worse than my RHPA70. Had to use various earplugs but still not good.
Scratch resistant visor scratches easily. Visor mechanism is not easy to refit once removed and is very clunky when opening.
Vision is improved from my RHPA70 and good ventilation.
First helmet purchased the front air vent broke on first ride but was quickly replaced by Sportsbikeshop.
I did really expect this helmet to be quieter as per the HJC advertisements but clearly not. Overall I am disappointed with this but unfortunately you can't send it back once you have used it.
I have liked my previous HJC helmets but will have a serious rethink before I buy another.
Purchased this to replace my previous RPHA 70 which at the time of writing, is 5 years old.
The difference between the two helmets is noticeable, but strangely familiar.
It does feel lighter and more compact. The medium fitting was snug as with as new lids, but as the shell is a fraction smaller, pulling the lid over my head, extra consideration was needed.
Once on, there's no issues with comfort, or pressure points (which I did have with the 70 for the 1st week or so).
It also seems a tad quieter, more notable at faster speeds with reduced wind noise (wearing my usual ear plugs). The sunshield extends further down than the previous, so does cut out that early morning low sun glare, and just looks better.
The only slight negative, is that HJC have introduced a latch requiring a press to raise the visor. Doing this with summer gloves isn't an issue, but with bulkier winter gloves may be problematic.
Overall, I think this is an improvement to my old HRPA 70, which can now be retired.
Very happy with my new HJC helmet.
This is a very comfy helmet with great features including drop down integral visor, Pinlock included. I can also add my integrated HJC headset from another HJC helmet.
I love the colours and modern look.
Wind noise is minimal and it is very light compared to other brands I’ve owned.
The whole purchase was smooth with very quick delivery.
The returns process is also very good if required
I give this 5 stars
Comfortable fit, decent airflow and good sound damping. Time will tell!
My son's helmet, not mine. He reports better wind noise reduction compared to his old AGV. Nice matt finish, but good colour contrast hopefully improves his own visibility on the road.
Excellent viewing visor, can see much easier when checking my blind spot and on junctions. Can feel how much better the aero is on this model and the drag can barely be felt even on a windy day. Air flow for the warmer days is really good as well.
Lightweight helmet. ACU stamp and fitted well.
Like the blue graphics.
I would also like to add how pleasant and helpful the staff were.
I've owned several HJC helmets over the years and others such as Shoei and X Lite. This is best so far. Very comfortable, light at just 1400gms which is important to me and reasonably quiet. Not a cheap helmet at £400 but great quality. There's really no downside.
True to size and excellent quality. Bought this for my wife and she loves it. Typical HJC just all round good quality. Very quiet and comfy.
Cheaper than a Shoei and seems to fit my head a lot better. As I have got older, my head shape has changed, I can't wear Shoei. So I'm trying this one out. Seems to be comfortable. The inner sun visor is larger than other brands, so that is great! Lightweight and build quailty is good.
Find it cheaper at any major motorcycle accessory retailer, online or in-store and we‘ll match it.
