RST Thermal Wind Block Pants - Black
Thermal wind block base layer trousers with stretch fit and fatigue reducing compression
DetailsVerified Customer Reviews for RST Thermal Wind Block Pants
Customers generally found these thermal trousers effective at blocking wind and keeping warm, especially in cold conditions. The fit can be tight around the ankles, with some recommending sizing up. Despite this, the products receive praise for their quality and comfort, even under riding gear. Customers highlighted the high waist design and flat seams as beneficial features. While some noted issues with fit and mobility around the knees, overall, they express satisfaction and recommend the trousers for cold weather rides.
I wear these under my riding single layer jeans and boy do they make a difference. You do still eventually feel the cold but they cut out the wind chill completely. Very economical way to extend the use of your jeans in the colder months.
Match this with the windproof top winter riding is no longer miserable
Bought to compliment my RST Windblock base layer top and wow together they are a game changer.
Not quite a wetsuit as some people describe but fantastic fit, profile and flexibility coupled with some seriosly smart features such as a kind of ruberised waistband / ankle cuffs, ensure fit and wind impermeabilty to keep me snug from start to finish, even on cold rides in my perforated leathers. Do exactly what they say on the Tin.
Great product, after reading previous reviews I took the advice and sized up 1 size and they fitted perfectly and as always great service from SBS
Warm and do the job so good
They make colder days comfortable. They are a bit thicker than basic thermals, but still fit ok under my Bull-it jeans.
Order a size up for these. Otherwise worth the money in every way. Rubberized cuffs and waistband are a great touch.
Had a few pairs of base layer bottoms but these are by far the best, remind me of a wet suit material I like the grippy material at the ankles and waist to keep them secure, well made and worth the money.
By far the best set of base lyer pants I've worn. Comfortable, warm, perfect fit and not bulky under my bike jeans. Good value for money, I would definitely recommend these to anyone.
Good
Used as low as 1 degree under jeans. Make a massive difference
RST have really made these to help bikers to keep comfortable and warm and they do there a great asset to bikers clothing.
I can't believe how much more comfortable during my ride, although weather was 5 degrees warmer than previous ride, still on a naked bike at high speeds you get cold straight away, not when wearing the rst thermal wind block top and bottom even under perforated leathers it's keep you warm and comfortable highly recommend them.
Wasn’t sure whether to put them on after I first bought them, as it was a sunny day but still quite cold - so glad I did as I didn’t feel the cold at all and even when I was off the bike walking around in the Sun, they didn’t become hot or sweaty. Would definitely recommend
I've had lots of long-johns in the £10-£20 range over the years and wondered if these would be worth the £45.
Very well made - a big step up from basic leggings. I wear them under leathers and at 8° my legs were warm, while at 14° I was actually sweating.
I'm 6'1" with long legs and I found the XL to fit ok - maybe a little on the big side but I don't think these are supposed to be a skin tight fit.
They won't create a forcefield around you to push wind away, but they will block out majority of it, you will feel comfortable and warm enough. Tested multiple times, naked bike in 5*C with civilian thicker jeans when going to work.
They have silicone/rubber rings at the ankles and waist so they don't ride up your legs. Build quality is great.
Fitment - 175cm,83kg. Usually 32/32 pants and these fit me like a glove.
Criticism - no give in the knee region, they significantly limit mobility, some special panelling would be great. Hopefully they will stretch a bit in that region over time.
The quality and feel of the product are excellent, and it's really comfortable.
I usually wear a size large, but I had to go for a 2XL for the top and an XL for the bottoms.
However, I don't think the set is worth £100. I used to wear regular cotton thermals under my Oxford bike jeans, which are slightly thicker than typical jeans. The RST Thermal Wind Block Pants provide better protection against the wind and cold (I used them in 2°C). Still, I wasn't particularly impressed with them, especially considering they cost £50.
These pants would definitely be more effective under thicker trousers. I expected them to perform better than what I was previously using.
I'm 170 cm tall (5'7') M size is good fit for me. It worked great even when the weather was 0 degrees with rider denim for 2 hours of riding.
