If it feels like armour in your bike kit then the law demands it is actually proper, protective armour. Here's how to tell how effective your impact protection is...
Would highly recommend, been using for the last month or so and can't fault it at all. Although I haven't used it below 10 degrees but from what I can tell it will keep you nice and warm. It's not goretex but it's rain resistant for a good hour or so.
Just replaced my 30!! year old Dainese Europa jacket with a new Dainese X-Tourer jacket. Very pleased to see the build quality is just as good as ever. Good zips and poppers, no loose threads. The full length zipped vents in the arms have been great in the hot weather and with the 2 removable inner layers I reckon this jacket will be good for winter use. Built-in elbow and shoulder armour good, not too bulky. Overall very pleased, especially at this price.
The X-Tourer D-Dry jacket combines versatility, comfort and all-weather protection in a unique 3 layer touring garment. The perfect choice to enjoy the riding journey, anytime of the year. The removable and packable 20.000mm waterproof D-Dry membrane provides protection from the rainy days, while being highly transpirant. An inner thermal jacket locks in heat, and can be worn separately to keep you warm on and off the bike. A practical collar hook, 2 inlet vent zips on the chest and 2 extraction vent zips on the back assure the perfect temperature in the warm season, allowing riding confidence and comfort whatever the weather conditions. Dainese safety standards are assured by D-Stone inserts on high impact areas and removable composite protectors on shoulders and elbows.
