If it feels like armour in your bike kit then the law demands it is actually proper, protective armour. Here's how to tell how effective your impact protection is...
Customers have praised these trousers for their blend of comfort, fit, and quality. The stretchy material offers a tailored, non-restrictive fit, accommodating various body types. Many appreciate the durable construction, ample pockets, and protective features, highlighting their effectiveness for both on and off the bike. Despite their higher price, most feel the quality justifies the cost. Some suggest purchasing additional armor for enhanced protection. Overall, these trousers are highly regarded and considered worth the investment.
Love these trousers. Expensive, yes, but you get what you pay for. Comfortable on and off the bike, and stylish enough to wear all day in a "relaxed but professional" office!
I'll be getting another pair for sure!
Probably the best trouser I have ever worn, so comfortable on and of the bike, AAA protection, what more could you want, highly recommended.
Really good product only issue I had is that the 34 waist is more like a 36 waist and the 32 waist has been discontinued
I would wear these out to any occasion. Very nice jeans and so so comfortable.
Couldn't be happier with these. They fit great, and have plenty of pocket space. I normally take a 32 leg but ordered the long ones so they don't ride up. I still feel safer in leathers but these are good for when I don't want to be fully kitted up. I'm fairly slim, so don't know what they'd be like on someone bigger, but I'm really happy with them.
Was unsure about cargo style bike trousers, however really glad I tried them, more comfortable than my riding jeans, great armour pockets and exactly in the right place, internally soft so can wear with or without an under layer, and have been warm in the recent sunny but cool spring days. Waist size is down one from my usual, otherwise a great fit. Unsure how they would cope in a spill, hope I never find out!
Lovely soft stretchy feel to these, reassuringly heavy material due to lining. Not used on the bike yet but i just know they will be comfortable. 34 x 34 normally - ordered the 33 Long and fit is spot on
Sizing is spot on. I'm a 36 waist and bought the same. Bit of stretch in the material. Jeans are the comfiest bike jeans I've owned. Protectors are in the right places with no movement. These could be kept on for a night out after reaching your bike destination without anyone knowing what their actual purpose is. Plenty pockets that are useable.
Looked at getting these for ages and just wish I hadn't taken so long to purchase them. Going to buy another different coloured pair but really liking the Olive I bought.
Overall excellent jeans.
Perfect fit the most comfortable I’ve worn great style the only criticism the armour could be bigger.
Very comfortable and stylish. Leg length is spot on but the waist is around 1-2 inches out. I'm a 32 and I fell between 30 & 31. I bought the 31 ( room for cake)
They are well made and a very good fit
I'm a 34 waste and 29 leg and they are spot on
They are lined so will probably be a bit warm in summer time if we ever get one again
But all in all I will recommend
Went down to the Boston branch to try on lots of jeans since I was tired of wearing uncomfortable trousers specifically for riding my bike. The staff were great and just kept bringing out all the brands and sizes I wanted until I found a pair that fit perfectly. The John Doe's come in lots of sizes, waist/leg length, so it was easy to slowly zoom in on a perfect fit. In fact I never actually expected to end up with a pair of jeans that were this comfortable and fit so perfectly. The armour sits exactly where it should which was never the case with previous jeans I've had. They're expensive but not too bad when you figure in how much it would cost to buy the excellent armour they come with as standard. I highly recommend and I'll very likely buy some more.
The Jeans are excellent quality, they have great padding where you need it, and they stretch well so movement is easy. They have plenty of pockets as well which is always a bonus when you're out on the bike.
True to size, good comfortable fit.
Being able to adjust the knee armour vertically as well as horizontally is great as you can get it exactly where you want.
Such a comfortable pair of cargos. Discreet and could easily wear these all day without anyone knowing there motorcycle cargos. Great protection and the sizing is bang on, order the size you'd normally wear. I'll only buy John doe trousers from here on out.
Always steered away from these due to the price tag, but wish I'd bought them earlier! Great quality with a 'slim' fit and tiny bit of stretch. I'm a 32" waist and 5' 11". Went for a 32" L which is perfect. The material feels very substantial as are the pockets, zips etc. They even make a GS rider look cool (me)..
I usually wear jeans but thought I'd give these cargo trousers a try and my god they are so comfortable! I like the fact that they do short length and wide range of waist sizes. They are warm, wind resistant, water resistant, loads of pockets. Extremely well made, little expensive but well worth the money. I ordered online as they didn't have my size in stock but they came a week earlier than expected which was a bonus. Fit is true to size (I ordered 33w 30L) same as my casual jeans and they fit perfectly.
Fantastic riding jeans, very comfortable, look great, feel very sturdy & durable, worth every penny.
