If it feels like armour in your bike kit then the law demands it is actually proper, protective armour. Here's how to tell how effective your impact protection is...
The leather feels good,it's heavy but comfortable when on there are plenty of useable pockets, got a size larger so I can wear a n extra layer in winter, excellent price
Superbly made leather jacket. Extremely comfortable with removable thermal lining. I love the weight of the leather and unlike many of my other fabric jackets the protective padding is unobtrusive. Sizing is bang on.
Dropped into Reading store just for a browse and saw this jacket. Looked amazing so had to try it on. I normally wear 2XL and this jacket fits a treat. Very comfortable and quality leather - Just had to buy it as price was unbelievable for such a fantastic jacket.
Very impressed with this jacket. Only issue was the sleeve studs were either too loose or too tight so I 'popped' in one in the middle. Would recommend to anyone. Usual outstanding service from SportsBikeShop
Great quality leather, comfortable and true to size. Great service from SBS as usual
Loving this jacket, really well finished and fit is good. Delivered following day from point of order so great service too. Very happy.
Love it!
Really impressed with the quality and weight of the jacket.
Excellent value for money.
Buy it! You won't regret it.
Again fantastic service from sportsbikeshop
Thank you
Quality is great
Service is even better
Fits well
It's a great jacket and great value for money, and I like the traditional look. I also like the fact that it comes with elbow and shoulder armour, and you can easily fit a slide board.
I would honestly say this is an absolutely excellent jacket for the price! The leather is heavy, but not too heavy. It is supple and flexible and comfortable to wear. The stitching is great quality and very secure, as to are the zips are of although I have had heavy zips on other jackets but I feel that this is a minor point, My previous jackets have been a size 46, so I went with this size here, and I'd say it's true to size at least for me. I looks great on and honestly it looks and feels more expensive that it is, if you're looking for a classic look, then look no further.
Great jacket for great price. Only tiny problem for me is that at the wrist I don't get a fill seal between the gloves and the wrist and I get a small draft inside. This could be extra cooling in the summer, but at spring, may feel extra cold. It may be me being the wrong size though.
Bought this jacket as it was exactly the style I was after. The sizing comes up true, I take a 40 and the 40 is spot on. Remember the back protector will take up a bit of room as well. The leather is of good quality as are the zips. There is a thermal lining in which can also zip out.
All in all very pleased with the jacket and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
Lovely jacket, nice leather, well made, good colour of brown. I like the style for my bike, a Triumph 1200 Scrambler. Size was correct for me 42" chest.
I bought this jacket because I wanted the classic style for use on my Harley. Opting for a relatively unknown brand was a bit of a leap of faith, but I know that SBS don't sell rubbish and they have a fantastic returns policy, so that was good starting point. Let's start with the bad stuff. DXR seem to have a reputation for sizing issues. These days, I need a XXXL size jacket. I am barrel-chested and have a relatively smaller waist, so XXXL tends to be a bit big round the middle for me. This is a trade-off that I have come to accept. I found that this jacket in XXXL is okay across the chest but is tight round the middle. This actually works for me, but if you need the extra waistline you may have a problem. The zips are very good quality and the size of the pockets are very useful, particularly the two inside ones. The only criticism I would offer here is that the sleeve pocket seems a bit pointless.
As to the good stuff; I am extremely impressed by the quality of this jacket. The weight of this leather is fantastic - heavy but supple. Aniline leather is generally reserved for better products, so the high quality is not surprising. The stitch-lines are close to perfect. The number of stitches per inch, to use an old industry term, is spot on. This ensures that the strength of the seems are maintained and won't give-way in a spill. The shoulder and elbow armour is adjustable and is held in place by Velcro - a very useful feature. The back protector is supplied at no additional cost. The only negative comment is that the back protector had very minor mould bubbles in the surface, perhaps this was a "second", but this would not adversely affect the performance of the protection it offers. I never use the liners that come with jackets, but this one is well made. The only negative is that when in place, the sleeves of the jacket seemed a bit tight.
The design of this jacket was quite simple in terms of construction, so I could not comment on how DXR would perform when stitching something more complex, but I have to say that for a motorcycle jacket of this quality, I would expect to pay £100 more. Notwithstanding the sizing concerns, I think that this jacket is very well made and represents great value for money.
Well made, reassuringly heavy.
