Advice & Guides Waterproof textile jackets don't have to be a big-money affair. Here are five budget belters...
Customers found this jacket to be excellent value, with a good fit, smart style and solid build quality. Many praised its warmth, waterproofing, adjustable fit and useful pockets, plus features like vents, liners and armour. A few noted sizing runs large or tight in places, and breathability could be better. Overall, customers felt it performs well for commuting and everyday riding, especially for the price, with only minor limitations in harsher conditions.
Kept me dry so far. Fits well. Plenty of pocket space. The thermal lining does a good job at keeping me warm on night rides. Mine came with CE level 2 shoulder and elbow armour but the listed level is 1 so that was a nice surprise
Not really a winter jacket, arms a little tight but may slacken with use ,but we'll worth the money
Very nice jacket, I did up one size, which fits lovely.
I've done 115 dry miles so far and it is very comfortable, unfortunately I cannot comment on the waterproof side of things.
The only thing I would say, is, that the collar could do with being very slightly higher, I'll have to wear a neck warmer on colder days. Other than that, a brilliant coat for the amount of money.
I'll be using it for a two week Alps trip next year.
It is not breathable gets warm very quickly however will be great when temperatures drop going into winter
Loved the adjustability on the arms for a snug fit and just the great fit once adjusted
Good quality jacket
The main priority for me was finding something in my size that didn't cost the earth as I'm only starting out. While the sizes did seem a bit big compared to my usual size, as long as you follow the size chart you'll be good. Tried a different jacket but this seemed to have better features such as the thermal insert going all the way down the arm and velcro arm adjustment as opposed to snap buttons giving a more precise fit
Nice starting mid season jacket. Not really tested it in bad or cold weather. Obliviously for really cold or really wet weather I would wear something different but for a everyday ride/commute it does the job well enough
Really good quality item if you're on a budget , really like the extra long flaps on the side pockets which ensure things stay dry and secure
Match the jacket with the matching Everest trousers and you're sorted for winter or heavy downpours!
Really happy with this jacket. The Richa Axel (Grey/Fluo) looks great and the fluo bits definitely help you stand out on the road without looking over the top. Fit was decent straight out the box, comfy too even on longer rides.
Feels well made and not too heavy either. Decent airflow when it’s warm, but still feels like it would hold up well in a shower. For the price, can’t really complain.
Would defo recommend if you’re after something that does the job and looks good doing it.
Fits well and has adequate protection, thermal liner comes out so it’s a dual season jacket. Used mostly in the sun so far but am very happy with this budget jacket
I'm a 3xl and had to buy an 8xl again these must be made in China by little people took the lining out and seated like a race horse the sweat was running down my arms velcro is very strong not sure if waterproof never seen the rain yet
I ordered in a new jacket on the try before you buy, and unfortunately it proved too small, too many pies. A member of staff walked me around the shop trying on different jackets at my price point, they didn't have to. I found a jacket and bought it. Brilliant service
Ok so far did as expected.
This is my second one of these jackets. Very good value and great for colder weather with lining and summer without. Go at least a size up.
Im a woman with not a very womanly shape I have big shoulders and am blessed with a larger chest. Womens jackets tend to be ill fitting and always have been, I tried on this jacket after trying a few on and it fit in the right places better than the womans. I was shocked about the price and the quality, very impressed!
