It did what it was supposed too with no real issues. Simple to use. Youtube is your friend if you are not sure what you're doing..

as suggested .... it does chains ..... done 4 now in as many years and looks like the day it came out the box. No issues, works as should, not much else to say really.

Don't bother wasting money on the cheap crap, go the extra and buy something solid. Only used once so far but sturdy product should last years..

Fairly easy to use, although the instructions aren't too detailed. Checked out a Youtube video to make sure before I started. It did the job on a DID 525 chain but the anvil was slightly bruised.

Easy to use to both separate and rivet a chain. Don't forget to grind down the pin heads before attempting to remove your old chain.

Don't bother with cheaper alternatives like I did, just get this decent chain tool and you'll save yourself a load of frustration. The Oxford chain tool is well made, with quality materials and worked really well to ream the master link rivets. It feels like it'll keep on working without any bother. The instructions are clear too. Just be aware that it doesn't include a case or carry-bag, so you'll need to open the box and foam packaging carefully to reuse it for storage. Would recommend.

Solid and well finished tool which made easy work of fitting new 525 X ring chain. Allowed precise pressing to exact position measured against other chain links followed by neat flaring of pins. Didn't use it to remove old chain but looks solid enough for that job also. Spare pin in handle is nice touch. Could do with nicer storage box but foam box insert fits nicely in drawer of tool chest to hold all the bits.

Having used various useless tools when replacing an endless drive chain it was a pleasure to use the Oxford Tool on this occasion. The initial price was reduced by Sportsbikeshop to a more affordable one so I went to the M/K branch.
The pieces of the tool exude quality and made the job of splitting the chain and re connecting it much more straightforward. The tough one is pressing in the side plate and peening over the two hollow pins. Easy!
The tool is a positive ,quality addition to my tool kit ! I Highly recommend it!
Surprise! I bought an Oxford jacket too!!

Does the job

It would be easier to use if the handle was a little bit longer. As mentioned a box or something to keep all of the parts together would have been nice, as would a spare and longer pin. But it has done a couple of chains without fault so it does work.

Really good chain tool. Had no issues with it and has already been used for 2 chain renewals. Only marked down because there is no case for storage. A minor point, but with so many small parts it would have been useful.

Just replaced the chain on my GSX1250 and this tools was ideal. I would say that the 530 chain was right at the limit of the tool ( pin removal )

Great tool, but must be lubricated

It's the first time I've used a chain tool. I read the instructions carefully, but when I needed to flare the pin, I had no success to begin with.

Even with a breaker bar the pin would not flare. There was so much resistance as I was attempting to turn the wrench.

Confused, I decided to add some lithium grease to the anvil's thread and the pin flared with almost no effort at all, to the point I over-flared it and had to buy a new link!

A good item, but the thread must be greased before use.

Replacement for cheaper tool. Remember to grind

Ordered this after a failure of a cheaper, less robust tool mid chain change. Great service as always by SBS and informative reviews pointed towards this mid priced item. Substantially heavier and better quality than my previous item and feels like it will last a little longer than the 6 chain changes from my cheaper unit but it does not come with a case and isn't as comprehensive as my cheaper unit. It comes with a replacement pin stored in the handle and appears to have good quality metals . Remember to read the instructions and grind off the tops of the old link pins BEFORE you try to press them out (even if its a small chain) otherwise the tool pin will bend. Would have given 5 stars if it had come with a storage case .Come on Oxford, even the cheaper kits come with a case to avoid losing parts.

Bought this Oxford tool to rivet a 525 chain link, which my old, cheaper oriental tool wasn't able to do. It performed perfectly, with enough control to get the perfect width across the link plates. To be fair, there were the expected witness marks on the actual replaceable riveting tool, so I will buy a spare one, even though I expect it to last for over 10 chains more (about 10 years for me).

To be honest I only used Oxford three in one tool to press links on, it's good quality for price, job done.
