If it feels like armour in your bike kit then the law demands it is actually proper, protective armour. Here's how to tell how effective your impact protection is...
Fit nicely in the chest pockets of my GTX Trench jacket, feel as though they will offer decent protection the downside is they rob some space in the jacket making what already was a snug fit even "snugger"
Bit fiddly to fit into pocket but jacket feels more secure with them in
These fit neatly (if somewhat challengingly when inserting them) in my Rev'it! Leather jacket and I'm sure they'll make a bit of difference should my chest take a hit. You feel them in the jacket but they're in no way too intrusive.
Very good piace of kit.
It fits perfectly in the front pockets of my Revit Horiz 3 H2O.
You have to bend them to get them into the zip but after that they come back to the original shape and fit perfectly.
It seems sturdy and reliable, it feels protective on the jacket but I hope I will never need to test it.
Fitted well in the revit h20 jacket, as it should.
Great value. Unobtrusive when fitted. Reassuring to have extra protection for chest / ribs. Having previously broken ribs coming off my bike, I hope if I come off again, my ribs will not snap next time with this fitted.
August 2022 I had a fall while wearing Rev'it Horizon 2 breaking a couple Ribs among other injuries.
After visiting the shop looking for replacement Jacket and Trousers I was told the Horizon 3 could have the Seesoft chest protector fitted.
Fitting the Armour in the Horizon 3 is simple the inner pockets have Velcro in the top, you fold the armour in half and locate into the cavities.
The armour is located behind the chest vents, i have not worn it in the summer months and it has perforated holes I do think it will have an affect on cooling I hope to never test its crash performance but if it reduced the chance of further broken ribs I can live with reduced air flow.
I bought this in advance of doing some off road training. I'm glad I did because I had an off and landed on my chest. I was winded and have some bruised ribs, but without this I'd probably have broken them.
That being said, I can't give these an "Excellent" review because they are very fiddly to get in and out of the jacket (you kind of have to fold them in half), and they move around a bit more than a separate piece of armour would.
If you've already got the jacket, it's worth it for the extra protection, but for more serious use I'd get dedicated armour that straps into place.
Just about fitted this to a Revit leather jacket. However once its in and adjusted to the correct position it feels comfortable and unobtrusive. I will be curious to see how the venting works in the middle of summer.
I'm really impressed by this product. The split design is more comfortable under the jacket when compared to my Knox one piece insert on my other jacket. I was surprised how light these are and don't even notice them in the jacket now. Worth the money to hopefully avoid rib fractures, lung contusions or worse if I come off.
Easy to fit , comfortable once in position , hope not to test lol
For those seeking additional armour for their jacket, Rev'it offer the Seesoft CE-level 1 divided chest protector. They can easily be inserted into a select variety of jackets that come prepared with the proper pockets. In the case of an impact, these protectors absorb and distribute energy away from the rider. Furthermore, the flexibility incisions around the ventilation points provide the rider with a proper fit.
This armour will be fine for this jacket.
