Advice & Guides When the temperature rises, these are the jackets to help you maintain your cool
Customers praise this jacket for its excellent fit, lightweight comfort and outstanding airflow in hot weather. They like the high-quality build, reassuring armour and practical pocket layout, with several saying it feels safer than riding in lighter clothing. It performs especially well for summer touring and warm climates, though it is not suitable for cold or wet conditions. A few mention sizing up for a better fit and note the mesh can feel breezy.
Similar to the trousers, very comfortable and versatile suitable for hot summer rides lightweight jacket enough ventilation.
Love the light weight and the breathability. Perfect summer jacket and filled the gap between my winter textile and my leather. Arms a little short in length but I ll cope
I find this jacket perfect for summer rides. It's adjustable on arms and waist, is a superb fit and not too heavy. Being AA rated offers peace of mind and I love the colour. My go-to summer jacket. The usual great quick service from SBS!
Lightweight, good armour, great price.
The collar sometimes grips my neck, but that's just probably me. Game changer riding in the heat. Air flows through cooling you down whilst riding so much more comfortable than riding with a traditional jacket. Unfortunately it was delayed due to demand for this garment, but was informed all the way by sportsbike shop. And unlike other's, arrived on the day they said it would. I would definitely recommend this jacket.
This jacket is quite simple in its design but it just looks really smart. Bearing in mind the full set of AA armour - back protector included - it is still relatively lightweight. And a good price at that. At the rear there is a zip connector and elastic area belt loop. Unfortunately I have to fault this as it’s attached to the lightweight internal mesh, which is not directly attached to the exterior fabric in this area, so this allows the rear of the jacket to ride up even if you have attached the belt loop. Not a deal breaker, but possibly an issue if you ride in a more sports oriented position
A revelation for riding in hot weather, was actually cold on a “feels like 31 degrees” ride last week. Seems well made, is comfortable, but I did go a size up from normal. Unusually comes with back armour, which is a plus, but unlike the elbows/shoulder is only level one and a none standard shape to upgrade.
Very impressed with this jacket, just the thing for the recent heatwaves cooling the torso and arms. Back protector as standard which not many have and due to the flow of air it doesn't stick to your back even in temperatures close to 30c. Jacket is also quite lightweight compared to a conventional textile.
Thanks to SBS too for the price match and speedy delivery as usual.
I've never tried a mesh / vented jacket. It's very light and fits well. Once you get moving the airflow is massive. Pockets are decent too and a back protector is standard. Recommended
I needed a summer bike jacket that wouldn't make me cook in the increasingly common heat waves being experienced in the UK. This jacket has been great. Cool even when stationary. Good armour protection. I do have to put on a waterproof coat if it rains of course. The jacket looks extremely smart .
Recent super-hot temperatures - with the prospect of more to come - prompted a review of lightweight vented riding jackets. There's a wide choice, but this CE-AA Approved Weise Scout hit the right balance of performance, protection and price. Fitted with a full set of Level 1 armour, large mesh panels on the front, back and sleeves promote good airflow. Adjustment on the arms, sleeves and waist help tailor the fit. A rear zip is also fitted for attachment to jeans, etc. There are two internal and two external pockets for personal stuff.
Jacket sizing is smaller than expected, so prospective purchasers may wish to go a size up. That way, if the temperature dips, then layering up is the way to go. But if it rains...now where are those waterproofs?
It is so good with air flow that morning when I riding to work on motorway with temperature about 16°C is way to cold, anyway recommend this jacket because is lighter that standard textile jackets, good for summer hot days.
Got this to be comfier in the hot weather the UK is having right. It's got really nice ventilation, no problem with staying cool. I sized up to XL based on the other reviews and that was the right thing to do, or it would have been a little snug across the shoulders. The adjustment straps allow you to tuck it in to exactly where you need it, and this way there's space for a warmer top if needed. At motorway speeds, my leather jacket is comfier as you do get a little bit of flapping, but anything below 60mph is simply perfect.
Great fit and keeps you cool and looks good
Delivery from SBS good as usual. Large 44 is a snug fit but as it's a vented jacket you only need a thin shirt under it. So far seems good quality.
Excellent for the hot weather and a good fit.
Well ventilated for 32degrees.
Go at least one size up
Great jacket, looks good, it’s light and cooling due to plenty of air flow through the mesh. Sizing is a little on the small side so I’d recommend trying before you buy to avoid having to return it for another size. Only worn it twice but it seems well made and durable.
Fantastic lightweight jacket with the knowledge that you still have good protection if the ground is coming towards you
