Is your bike kit so manky you’re banned from the house for fear of rubbing grub all over the walls? If you’ve got textile bike kit in need of a freshen up, here’s how to do it without ruining it…
OK in a light shower, but didn't work in heavy rain
This is similar to one of those shoe polishes with a sponge head applicator. It goes on really easily and gives good coverage. Leave a while and buff off. No residue left on the glove and feels good.
Not yet used in rain, but have high expectations
I've used this for years although it seems to be harder to get hold of now. I apply it to my gloves when they are new and then in the Autumn, over the Christmas break and then again in Spring. It applies easy enough although it can be a bit messy with drips. It helps keep the gloves from getting sodden so that they are at least dry in the morning after work, although it isn't perfect, especially in torrential rain.
As always, Nikwax products that I've used personally always perform well.
Always apply this product to new and used gloves to keep them in perfect condition. Remember to clean fabric and insulated gloves first with Nikwax Tech Wash and Nikwax leather cleaner for leather gloves.
