Easy to use and rejuvenated coat.
Haven't had to reproof a waxed cotton item for years. Then it was a Belstaff Trailmaster suit. A messy business, involving warming a pot of wax, a paintbrush or sponge.
Someone gave me a waxed cotton 'duster' jacket, which had been in a cupboard for years, & needed reproofing. Used to be you could get reproofer in any motorcycle shop. No longer.
Went online to look, not only is it available from my favourite shop, but made by Nikwax. After a lifetime of outdoor activity, & spells of working in clothing & m/cycle shops, I know one thing - their stuff works. It is also easier to apply, due to a spray (non aerosol) bottle.
I've used this product before, offered by SBS as replacement for the duckswax I ordered that they didn't have stock at the time (turns out this was what I really needed). After applying per instructions, it does good waterproofing, even in pouring rain I stayed dry inside my jacket. Of course Philippines monsoon means really heavy rains so application will be at least 2x per year. Great product, highly recommended
I've applied it to my jacket, maybe too much. haven't tested it on rain but it seems to keep water away.
I kept putting it off to re-wax my Merlin jacket the traditional way until I came across this product by Nikwax. The application was quick and easy. My jacket looks as good as new and has improved water-repellency! I will be treating it regularly with this going forward.
Squirt, wipe in and allow to dry.
Jacket came up like new.
Now what can I weather proof next.

Takes all the hard work out of reproofing your waxed motorcycle jackets and waxed mitts put it all in the washing machine on a cool wash allow to dry then spray with Niikwax and then rub in with damp cloth easy looks like new perfect far better than sticky wax very pleased. Tony
