Advice & Guides If it feels like armour in your bike kit then the law demands it is actually proper, protective armour. Here's how to tell how effective your impact protection is...
Customers say these jeans offer good quality, comfort and strong protection, with armour that is usually discreet and reassuring. Several mention helpful stretch, attractive looks and value for money. However, sizing can be tricky, with some finding them too tight, too loose or better with a different length. A few also note the fit is slimmer than expected, and that knee pad placement or adjustment could be improved.
Bought these as a birthday present for my son, and he loves them! Triple A rating was what did it for me but he says they are so comfy he hasn't worn normal jeans since.
Outwardly just a plain pair of dark blue jeans, nothing to indicate 'biker', but the inside has the lining and comfortable armour for reassurance. Generous in size, I had to reorder a short leg which is still plenty long enough. Not tight or clingy in the leg either. Looking forward to riding in them...
My hubby loves these. He wanted something that offered great protection for summer riding but not leather. These are perfect.
Very comfortable jeans, sizing came up exactly as hoped (comparable to regular jeans sizing, so no surprises).
Purchased these as an alternative to Roadskin, based on online reviews and the quality is excellent for the price point, with comparable safety readings.
These jeans are so comfortable and easy to wear even with the armour in. Not the first pair I tried but definitely the ones I’ll settle for.
Very happy, just hope I never have to test the AAA rating.
Do order a half size down, as while tight initially they do give, and are super comfortable. Very well made, and look good off the bike too
These are well made, comfortable and protective jeans 5 stars.
My old bike jeans were getting a bit tight around the waist. A good excuse to get a new pair, so I ordered a size up (38") from my normal 36" and regular length (stated as 32" inside leg).
When they arrived it was immediately apparent that they were too big, so back to SBS for a different pair - 36" waist 30" inside leg which fit perfectly.
SBS as usual, brilliant customer service and prompt refund on returns.
Anyone ordering these jeans should note they are generously sized and also stretch for a close fit.
I have only worn them once on my bike so far, but they seem very good quality.
Great fit and comfortable armour at a very reasonable price compared to other AAA jeans. Ordered 1 day, tried on and bought the next day. Great service from SBS.
I'm usually a 32R but had to send those back and get 30S. Also the legs seem to want to twist the knee pads inwards. Other than that they are comfortable and look great.
Worked well for a year and a bit until eventually the material wore down so thin in the seat area it ripped open. I stitched it up but it just ripped in another area letting me know the jeans were done for.
Seems decently protective, fit really well and looked pretty good. Maybe a bit hot on the warmest of days 25c+ when in traffic but to be expected with black jeans.
These jeans are a great buy and at a fantastic price. They are extremely comfy, great quality and the delivery time from purchase was extremely quick.
Smart enough to _just_ get away with in a business-casual office environment. Knee guards felt a bit high, but nothing major. Included armour was relatively quite slim, and comfortable enough to keep in whilst sitting in an office chair.
I found the jeans a bit on the larger side, so had to order one size below. They are very comfortable to wear. However, the knee armour fitting is very badly designed. The knee armour keeps moving towards the tank when riding. I like my knees gripping the tank, not the armour, as my knees side inside and find it more difficult to grip.
Glad I got this in a sale, I would not have paid full price as not worth it. Knee armour supposed to be on the front of the knees not the inside leg. I have tried making sure that the knee armour as facing away from the tank as I sat on the bike, but it keeps sliding inwards. very uncomfortable.
I had a pair of Red Route denim for years and the knee armour was spot on.
I’ve had a few pairs of these now and wear them to and from work as well as weekend rides. If you want to walk around the office with them you can do but I always change at work as the protection armour is not something I want to wear all day around the office. They do come up bigger than normal so try before you buy.
Just done 1000 miles around Ireland in a pair of these jeans. Really comfortable fit and all the padding sits in the right place. I am a 33” waist normally, so went for a 34” short, perfect fit. Highly recommend.
More stretchy than I expected. Aside from the knee and hip protector they feel almost like regular jeans.

The shower resistant coating applied to Bull-it products is a chemical product that makes the microfibres of the product stand on end. This barrier of fibres stops water drops from being able to soak into the surface of the product, however this coating will progressively fade with time. To refresh this coating, a Reproofer kit can be applied.
