Advice & Guides If it feels like armour in your bike kit then the law demands it is actually proper, protective armour. Here's how to tell how effective your impact protection is...
Customers praise RST leather trousers for their comfort, fit, and value. They notably appreciate the absence of knee sliders, making them suitable for touring and road use. Many customers highlight the protective features, including well-placed armor and AAA abrasion rating. Several note the necessity to size down for a better fit, with some finding the waist measurement larger than standard sizing. A minor critique includes tightness around calves, while others mention the quality stitching. Customers consistently express satisfaction with their purchase.
I like the way these trousers , curve around the legs , fit on the hips and after a small time riding the bike , they suddenly 'gave in' and started to mould to my shape .
The construction of the trousers are spot on and considering the price are very well made with fine stitching all round ...Love the way the knee armour feels so integral to the design .
The flexibility of the extra stretch material built in to the design is very useful and they do feel easier to put on and take off unlike others I have had over the years.
The quality of the leather seems to be high grade with the optional extra of using the zip to adhere to a RST leather jacket if wanted .
Overall a great purchase especially now with the reduction in price .
Nice trousers, quality leather and heavy but reassuringly so. Fit is different so if you can try on in a store if possible for the best fit.
After spending 2 hours at SBS in Harlow, both the trousers and jacket were the most comfortable and the added bonus they were the best priced, great on the bike as well although the first ride was in cold weather, but I can confirm the preforations work a bit too well with cold weather!
Really like these trousers, comfortable at first then get even better after some rides out.
Probably worth trying on or sizing down, I’m normally a 30 waist but 28 in these.
Knee armour is level 1, not as thin as the level 1 D3O in my kevlar jeans but possibly more comfortable to wear I think? The hip protection is actually level 2 which was a pleasant surprise as not noted in the details.
Light comfortable fits just right
Upgraded to leathers for less slippage riding pillion. Love these RST because they aren’t too ostentatious in design as well as being extremely comfortable.
For the price point the quality appears to be good, others a more comfortable solution for touring. I would say waist is half a size smaller than M&S sizing so if you are a tight fit in you M&S trousers consider going a size up. Leg length I found generous.
I am a big fan of RST products- they offer the right balance of safety, value and quality.I am a 34 waist all day long but I read the reviews and ordered a 32 short which was spot on.Takes a week or so of wearing to break in (like anything leather) and it’s nice to find something that’s for touring and real world riding rather than knee sliders and speed humps. They sit right on the waistband so consider pairing with a jacket that has 360 zip or Oxford braces to avoid any gaps or draughts.
This is my first pair of leather motorcycle pants and I really like them. The quality is great and they fit me very well. I'm a size 34 inch waist and went with a size 32/EU 52 which fit very well, except the waist is a bit loose, but the bum and legs fit great. I bought a zip on belt to cinch them tighter. I've been riding in them for 2 weeks now and they have softened up a bit as well. I'd recommend these to anyone who wants the protection of leather pants. If you can try them on for size first then that would be ideal. I ended up buying 2 sizes (32, 34) and ended up returning the 34 as they were too big. Luckily the return policy at SportsBikeShop is good and allows for easy returns.
Feel good to wear with aaa protection excellent price. I needed to have a size smaller as they were big on me, one minor disadvantage is only one pocket but apart from that they are brilliant.
Excellent fit
Good standard protection and smart looking. Fit is a little large. I ordered a 40 inch and I’m probably a 39inch. When walking they feel a bit big but nothing unmanageable but on the bike they feel great. Get a lot of decent braces to go with them.
Really comfortable trousers that are reassuringly robust. Can get quite warm but perforations help keep this to a minimum. Great to be able to zip them into my RST jacket too.
First pair of leathers. Very happy with fit and they are very comfy
Bought these from the Preston store, tried a 32in waist, my size, but found them a bit big round the waist, so went for the 30in, and a short leg, absolutely perfect, good fit every where, and especially inside the boots, being short leg, all fits snug, top product and excellent staff at the Preston store, cheers guys.
Tight on the calf's... Baggy waist, short in the leg. RST leather trousers seem to be for short fat guys with skinny legs!!! But after the initial fit, the leather stretches and forms better to the individual inside it...... After a year, now comfortable, but still tight and restricted round the knees a bit.
Had to buy a size 32 waist even tho im normally a 36 as they are elasticated but very comfortable and good quality
Nothing to dislike comfortable on and off bike
