Advice & Guides Gore-Tex not keeping out water? There's a different procedure to getting it sorted, and here's an explainer...
I was in the market for some winter gloves and trying to choose between these, the Knox Zero 4 and the RST heated gloves.
Managed to try all three and for the price and performance, these were hands down the winner for me. The Zero 4s felt bulky and the feedback when riding wasn't great, my fingers got cold after about 20-25 mins of riding.
The RST were good, but the fit wasn't great and one of the batteries died very quickly (possibly a faulty glove) but without the heaters on, again my fingers got cold quick.
These manage to keep my hands and fingers warm even over an hour of riding in slightly colder weather, without losing any feedback from the handlebars and levers.
I decided to buy this glove when it was very cold outside. Only after 10 minut riding in minus 5 my hands got so cold it was unbearable. I commute on bike all year round regardless the weather and this purchase by far has been the worst.
Great gloves for winter and a good fit
I’ve been using these gloves for a few weeks now, including a couple of rides in proper heavy rain, and my hands stayed completely dry — really impressive waterproofing. The style and overall design are great, and I especially like the double closure/locking system. It gives a very secure fit without feeling bulky.
In very cold weather, they’re not as warm as my previous winter gloves, but the trade-off is worth it: they’re much less bulky, which means better dexterity and feel on the controls. For long commutes in freezing temperatures, heated gloves are still the best option anyway.
Overall, these gloves strike a great balance between protection, design, and real-world practicality. Easy 5 stars from me.
I bought these to replace a Rev’it Gore-Tex glove I have been using for 5 years. That glove had compromised to safety to offset that offset the warmth and waterproofing. This glove has almost all the protection you need. I am a convert to the need for scaphoid/palm slider to prevent wrist fractures of you fall on outstretched hands. The only additional protection I would ideally like is a bridge between the ring and index finger to prevent amputation.
I have tested the gloves in the rain, and they are both waterproof and warm. The glove isn’t bulky like my previous pair, and the 2 step closure is more reassuring. Touchscreen compatibility is a must, as you don’t want to be getting you hands wet just to set your Waze. I am reassured by how well my last glove lasted, and I feel Rev’it get it right with their gloves.
