Ignore the touring claims and this smart jacket from Rev'it has a lot going for it...
My fellah has forwarded me this in order that I can do a proper review of his Action H20 Textile Jacket. I know he said it is durable, weatherproof, and good for layering...but more importantly from my point of view, it looks very hunky (a bit 'Darth Vaderish') and the flattering cut hides his biker belly!
This is a really good summer jacket, but it kind of feels like they didn't know what this jacket was all about. It is really light and airy; more so than the RST Ventilator jacket which has been my go to summer jacket for many years. But although this jacket allows a lot of wind to pass through, it has a high collar and, what isn't shown in the images, a layer that wraps around your thumb and covers the palm of the hands, which is something you'd expect more with a winter jacket. This isn't removable either, unless you're happy to go at it with a pair of scissors like I did.
For me, the high collar rubbed against the chin strap of my helmet, which I over came by just folding the top front of the collar in under itself. The liner offers no warmth; it's purely a water resistant windproof layer, which has a waxy feel to it. What I do like about the liner is that I don't have to attach it to the jacket. I put the liner on first when needed, and the jacket goes on over the top without the sleeves riding up thanks to the fact that the liner too has elasticated cuffs. The high reflective panels work really well.
All in all, the only thing i'd like to really change is the collar height. Perfect for 10 deg celsius and up, and light rain.
Not quite a short length jacket either. It's more medium length.
