Excellent Jacket

SAFETY
Level 2 D30 armour in the elbows and shoulders, and quite frankly, it's massive! The biggest armour of any of the jackets I ever owned, and it covers a great deal of those vulnerable, bony, sticky out parts, with added 500D overlay at those vulnerable areas to give extra abrasion protection. I was a little disappointed, that at this price, they appear to have skimped a little on the included back protector, with only level 1 back protection included. I was also surprised that this coat only gets a class "A" certification. I did a little reading and this is apparently due to the stretch material used to make the coat more comfortable. That said, the coat itself, feels very protective, it certainly looks and feels like it would do what I wanted it to do should I ever be unfortunate enough to get intimate with the tarmac. The large size of the armour is also very unobtrusive when wearing the coat. As with all D30 armour, it softens and becomes flexible once it warms up. After a few minutes I don't even know it's there.
FIT
This was a bit of an issue for me. I measure in as a 44" chest. Now I wanted to wear this jacket over the top of my Dainese D-Air waistcoat, so I opted for a size 46" (2XL). The jacket arrived, and yes, it would cover over the top of my airbag vest, but it was far too restrictive around my shoulders and upper arms (lining in situ), so much so that when I leant forward into a riding position it felt like the arms were cutting off my circulation. I tried the jacket on again without my D-Air waste coat on, and it was the same, still too restrictive around my upper arms and shoulders. Even if I hadn't wanted a larger size to go over my D-Air vest, I think I still would have needed a size 48" (Size 3xl), to give me a comfortable range of movement. I arranged an exchange, and as usual, no issues with the service from SBS. Size 3XL arrived and was a perfect fit, with and without the Dainese D-Air. If you do need to adjust the arms there are press stud adjuster on the upper portion of both arms.
COMFORT
Very comfortable to wear, once I got the sizing sorted out. Plenty of room in the coat for base layers and the detachable thermal lining is perfect for that cold weather riding. It's also easy to put in and take out, not as fiddly as some jackets I've owned. It has zipped ventilation on the sides and back of the jacket for warm weather riding, and although we haven't had any substantially warm weather yet, so as to test it, I have no doubt that this will provide a decent amount of airflow into the jacket. The stretch material in the jacket makes it less restrictive and more comfortable to wear both on and off the bike. As yet I can't really comment on waterproofing. I've only wore it during a brief shower, the water appeared to bead on the jacket and just roll off, so I have no reason to believe that the coat will not serve me well during a heavier downpour.

Amazing jacket
19 December 2023 by Pav
Like they say "you got what you paid for" this jacket is very light (much lighter than my other jackets) and extremely comfortable despite the fact it comes with elbows, shoulders and back protection. Easy to attach with matching trousers, nicely shaped to cover back while riding. Neoprene on the collar creates nice and snug fit. I really like this jacket. I'm all year rider in Scotland. Even at this time (December 2023) I can wear just t-shirt underneath and will not feel any cold. If I knew what I know now, I would buy this jacket years ago to save myself searching and trying to save few quid to buy cheap.

Best Suit Owned
19 October 2022 by Carl L
Having now worn the Comfo R suit on the bike and in the rain, I can say just how comfortable to ride in it is (it is, very) and that not a drop of water got through.
Also, the outer layer did not 'wet out'.
I have discarded the zip in liner as always and replaced with the wear-alone Rukka Down X 2.0 which is toasty and fits underneath.
Sizing is accurate so it's unlikely you will need to go a size up as it's stretch codura.

Rukka product's are expensive but you get what you pay for. Smashing jacket haven't tried it in real cold yet, have no doubt that'll be up to the job!

Fantastic jacket.
18 September 2022 by Graham M
Brilliant jacket. Wind proof and water proof in down pour. Very comfortable from the moment I put it on. Cuffs do up nice and tight to put into gloves and long enough so no wind enters up your sleeve. Great value for money. No need to spend £1000 on a jacket. This is great.

Rukka Comfo R purchase
30 July 2022 by Jason F
The staffs couldn't do enough for us. Firstly, gave us the time to really examine the jacket and compare with others in stock. Secondly, explained the features on the jacket and even gave a small discount with it being my 50th!
A really pleasant experience to visit the Boston store.

Pricey but good
25 June 2022 by Anonymous
It took me a while to make a decision on buying this jacket because of the price but I'm glad I did.
I went for my normal size and it fits perfectly, the comfort being the main selling point of this jacket because of the stretch was the reason I bought it and it works well while still being a gore tex product for bad weather. I don't find laminated products uncomfortable but this really does have movement where laminate doesn't. The warmth liner looks cheap but it does the job when it's zipped in but it's easy to remove. The jacket and pants look and feel good and I would recommend to anyone who commutes in the UK weather or enjoys riding in any conditions.

Comfy - as the name suggests
16 March 2022 by Dave W
Smart - good fit, with D30 armour included including a level 1 back protector and level 2 shoulder and elbow pads. Quite a short jacket but with suitable layers, I was warm as toast in 2 deg C temperatures - and it's vented so if Summer eventually turns up it should be equally usable when it's warmer - and Goretex should keep the worst of an English summer at bay .. 10/10

Exactly what I was looking for
10 March 2022 by Stephen C
This is a superb jacket, fit and finish simply the best. It is expensive but for the casual rider as many it's a more affordable entry into Rukka ownership. As it is made with stretch cordura it is comfortable straight away. Protection is great with the back, shoulder and elbow protection provided by D30 level 2.
