Pros in that it is very comfortable, warm and hasn’t let water through once. It fits well and feels solid with the armour.
Cons are that it is very heavy will all the layers and armour in. I’ve found that the stitching on the neck cover came away and the velcro on the left cuff came off within a couple of weeks of use. Not what i’d expect from Merlin and at that price point.

To say this jacket is substantial is a bit of an understatement, when I picked up the box i was surprised that it only contained a jacket, it's very heavy but the weight distributes well once you put it on. The overall construction is excellent , the stitching robust and neat, the zips, mostly YKK are very well stitched in. It has both waterproof and thermal liners which can be inserted together or independently depending on the weather, these actually zip in at the cuffs too which stops them riding up. There are straps at the sides and on the arms to adjust fit, plenty of pockets including one giant one at the back above the waist, a selection of vents and seven pieces of D30 armour included. I'm usually a UK 38 - 40, I tried a 38 but found it a little too restrictive and so bought a 40 medium which is a much better fit, just be aware that it will be looser with the liners removed. All in all this is a great jacket at full price but at sale price a no brainer and good investment.

The jacket is really worth the cost of it, full armour and chest protectors, really good fit and extremely comfortable. It does have a fair bit of weight to it with all 3 layers and armour put in, but if anything you feel safe in it. The only real downside to this jacket is the pockets are weirdly a bit small, you can't get a full phone in anywhere without it sticking out a bit which is a bit disappointing.
