Klim D3O Airbag Compatible Back Protector

Replaced the Level one protector that came with the airbag vest. Not that bothered that it was level two on the airbag, but the L1 protector had zero holes/slots for venting air. This one is definitely cooler.

I bought this to replace the standard Level 1 protector in my Klim Ai-1 airbag vest, and it’s worth it.

My complaint with the original (apart from only being Level 1) was how much heat it trapped against my back. An air jacket is never going to be the coolest thing to wear in summer anyway, but the much more open design of this makes a huge difference. My back is definitely less sweaty and it feels less like I’ve got a solid slab sitting behind me, despite being a bit thicker, it’s more comfy.

Obviously the other benefit is going from Level 1 to Level 2 protection, so you’re getting better protection AND better ventilation, which isn’t normally how these things work! Fits straight into the Ai-1 as you’d expect and there’s no downside that I’ve found.

Good upgrade. I’m just slightly annoyed that having already spent a small fortune on the Ai-1, this isn’t the protector Klim supplied with it in the first place…

Ventilated better than oem and upgrades to class 2 protection

Great service as ever from SBS. Bought this as an upgrade to the level 1 that comes with my vest. I always go for D3O armour where I can as it’s a brand/products I can trust. Well worth the investment.
