When the temperature rises, these are the jackets to help you maintain your cool
Customers praise this jacket for its versatility, suitable for varying weather conditions. It offers great airflow and comfort for warm days, but also includes a combined thermal and waterproof liner for cooler climates. Several customers appreciated the robust protection, with Level 2 armour in key areas. However, some mentioned the warmer liner might be excessive for warmer times, while the jacket's sizing could be snug. Despite minor drawbacks, many valued its quality and functionality and recommended going one size up.
Great jacket at a good price. Keeps you cool in summer and if it rains just slip in the liner.
Good - easy to swap out the liner
Bad - what do you do with the line once you've unzipped it? No map pocket to stuff it into.
I needed a jacket for the heatwave but also for the vagaries of the British summer, this jacket fitted the bill very nicely. The mesh allows plenty of air through keeping you cool while motoring. The waterproof lining is warm when the weather cools and is very comfortable.
The only downside I’ve found is that the cuffs are a little tight.
Very nice jacket. Super impressed with the quality of the outer breathable jacket. Wore this recently on a baking hot day and was very happy with the ventialtion.
It comes with a very nice zip-in waterproof liner (which I haven't tried in the wet yet). Nice touches such as zips around the cuffs to stop it riding up inside the outer and double flap over the front zip to prevent water getting in.
Comes with a full set of level 2 CE pads for shoulders, elbows and back, which is very unusual for a ventilated jacket.
Sizing is peretty good - I ordered up one size based on other reviews and it fits really well.
Very happy!
It’s comfortable and cool in summer with the removable lining. Also has good safety features and a removable back support
I love it so user friendly great for long warm days and the liner is good if UK weather turns
Seems great so far, reccomend sizing up. Only issue is a fiddly zip.
I needed a summer jacket and this RST mesh jacket with removeable waterproof quilted liner, AA rated with level 2 armour including back protector for under £130 fits the bill. I've only worn it once but it's much cooler with the liner removed so more comfortable than a normal textile jacket in hot weather . Not used in the rain yet but normal RST quality, 4 good useful pockets too.
Makes summer riding a different experience allowing the breeze to cool you. No more overheating. Good fit. Comfortable.
Good AA protection while having good airflow, might even be a bit chilly in the mornings but great for the afternoon. The thermal/waterproof layer provided is useful as well.
I purchased this RST ventilated jacket to replace my original RST ventilated jacket that I had had for ten years. This new jacket is well made and provides slightly better air flow when compared to the original jacket. I decided to get the bigger size which has provided better freedom of movement. RST provide quality jackets at a good price. I would also like to mention Boston sportsbikeshop excellent service allowing me to try on different sizes of jacket, this ensures you get the best fit.
I used this on a road trip across Spain - without the liner as it was 35-40 degrees. It’s a great fit and I’m really pleased with it. I feel safe and comfortable in it.
I’ve not used it with the liner but it looks warm enough for an English autumn days riding.
Definitely recommend this jacket
Wanted a mesh jacket for summer rides. This one comes with a light, waterproof/thermal removable liner for the odd occasion when the British weather does change.
Plus it's a mesh jacket with AA rated protection!
What's not to like?
You can certainly feel the air circulating through the jacket keeping you cool on those rides out on country lanes and main roads. The sizing is generally good, with a snug but comfortable fit in all the right places. Cuff seals are good, allowing gloves to slide over them easily. The collar isn't too tight (for me), and the zip cover works well. The spine, shoulder, and elbow protectors are unobtrusive and feel good enough for me. Good value for money in my opinion.
It’s very effective - excellent airflow across the chest and arms. Good fit too - (I ordered a larger size after reading other reviews about it being smaller than stated size).
The only negative is the back protector - it’s not attached to the lining at the bottom and so it hangs against your back and can become uncomfortable when it’s very hot. I thought about removing it but that would defeat the object.
Excellent service during a visit to the Birmingham store to try on various summer jackets. I had my eye on the Revit range but I coudn't get a decent fit. It was suggested that I try the RST range and I'm glad I did. Usually I would take small (Euro 50) but having tried it on it was clear that medium was the right size. I've only worn it once, without the liner, for a 200 mile trip on a day that started at 17 degress and ended up around 24. A bit cool to start with but perfect later. My only negatives are the pockets are small, the shoulder armour doesn't locate as well as I'd like and the zips could be more substantial, hence the 4 stars rather than 5. But on the whole, I'm very pleased.
Worn this now several times in 25degree or hotter weather. The airflow is very good, even with a Helite airbag vest over it. The jacket arms, front and back all are mesh. So that all works well. Being CE2 the jacket flows air well but feels way more substantial and protective than any CE1 jacket - I tried 5 jackets in SBS to be sure before buying. My old CE1 Furygan jacket was way less protective. The RST's cuffs are just hook/loop fastening but its very secure so no worries there, it fastens over my short summer gloves very comfortably. Adjustment in two places at the arms and also at the waist means the fit can be well customised. It is cut a llittle longer than some too, so it sits on your hips rather that above them. I'm a 42inch chest 34 waist and size L is a perfect fit and not to tight. The jacket liner is good if you want it, I don't so it's put away. I'll carry a waterproof over-jacket if summer rain threatens. In summary, having owned a CE1 jacket for years and wanting a CE2 protection upgrade, having looked at various mesh jackets I feel this is the best available. Good price and great service from SBS.
Fantastic value for money. Full armour including a back protector which is not always the included as standard. Very comfortable. Both the ventilation and the thermal liner seem to work well. Highly recommended. In store customer service was excellent even on what appeared to be a very busy day. (Milton Keynes).
