We've had the Spartan and Spartan GT, but now there's a third... the Spartan RS
It’s really lightweight which releases some pressure off your neck and will help if your into track days. It feels very robust and doesn’t have a cheap feel to it.
There is one thing I don’t like about it… and that’s the visor. Unlike other helmets I’ve owned, this one has to be released and opened by the using a button located in the centre on the mouth vent. It’s just not a smooth operation, especially if you wear glasses and they start to fog, you can’t get it open quick enough. You have to try and press the button while trying to open the visor at the same time. It’s dangerous in my opinion.
On the other hand, the one thing I love about it, is how quiet it is.
Went for the Spartan RS based on reviews, helmet is perfect!
Main positives are the vents and airflow. Zero mist and comes with the pinlock 120, which is superb. I fitted the Sena 3s plus, easy fitting to this helmet.
Service from Sportsbikeshop was outstanding,
My second Shark helmet and I'm really impressed with this Spartan. The carbon is flawless and the materials used in the construction are excellent. Having lived with the helmet for a couple of weeks, I can confirm it's all day comfortable and quiet at motorway speeds. In summary, a great lid that offers exceptional value for money. Thank you Sportsbikeshop.
Very impressed with this helmet. Quiet and warm. Really comfortable. I was in the Leeds shop looking at helmets for half an hour. Bamboozled by the options. A lovely member of staff helped me to narrow down my options from what I wanted. Great service as always in shop and online from SBS.
Went into MK branch spoke to the team about what I ride and issues with wind buffer and noise. They came up with 3 different makes they thought would help.
I went with the shark as the fit was perfect. My rides are less wind noise and less buffer. The service was brilliant even though they were extremely busy. Can't fault the team at MK cheers guys
Had to update my old Shark carbon skin lid, so no problem purchasing a new one also 22.06 updated and improved from the existing one.
Looks great and with excellent visor and drop down sun visor.
Can't fault service from SBS
Having different helmets in the past (incl. Shoei, Shark, Scorpion) and so able to compare, This is in the top 2 for me on par with the Shoei I owned a few years back.
Very stylish, light, comfortable and the visor settings and vents make adjusting amount of air flow extremely easy.
Bought the shark Spartan RS carbon skin - Shawn Matt carbon . The helmet is very light , the lightest helmet I have ever worn. The fit is superb . The day I first tried was very windy and I found it a bit whistly with the visor up but silent when the visor was down . The helmet feels great on and feels great quality. A couple of gripes ; old style d ring strap , would rather have had the ratchet type as on my previous shark devan helmet . The visor has a square piece on the bottom which is what locks the visor down . When the visor is up , it can be in your eyeline unless you put the visor up quite far . Apart from the two points it's a great helmet and really does feel quality when you're wearing it . I would recommend it .
The helmet fits and feels fantastic once on. I'm personally not a fan of the double d ring fastener but this is the safest option so I'm not complaining too much. The helmet is wind tight and is the most sound proofed helmet I've owned. The sun visor is really good and clear although a little annoying to operate due to how far back on the helmet the operating mechanic is. Vents are great and you can instantly feel the difference once opened.
Everything you need and really good fit little wind noise and looks good
