Stuck on whether to go full-face or open-face? Flip-overs let you have both in one lid...
Customers generally praised the Scorpion modular helmets for their excellent fit, comfort, and versatile functionality, including the ease of use for those who wear glasses. Many appreciated the flexibility of converting between open face and full face features, although some mentioned wind noise and a fiddly visor as minor drawbacks. The helmets were described as well-built, with effective air vents and a reliable locking system. The Pinlock feature was noted for its fog prevention, and the helmets were considered good value for their quality and features.
I purchased this helmet in a large size and was told by a very helpful member of staff to go home and wear it for 30 or so minutes to make sure it was the correct size, what a good bit of advice as I had to swop it for the next size up. Really pleased with it, comfy and practical and looks good.
I bought one of these before and after a minor accident, I've bought another the same. It's comfortable to wear during long journeys, easy to get on and off and has a built in sun visor. I haven't had any problems with the screen misting up at all.
I am happy with the quality, fit and value for money.
The only minor niggle is that the sun visor can drop down if you go over a large bump in the road. It's only happened once or twice and to be honest, I'm a fair weather biker, so usually have it down anyway.
Looks good, everything feels well made, modular mechanism closes with a reassuring click as does the visor.
I run a scorpion helmet already but for touring I was using a Bell helmet. Unfortunately due a me falling of the bike and cracking the bell helmet of the ground I decided to replace it.
I had been looking at this helmet for about 10 months
Firstly try on the helmet in store. I’m a Large and whilst it fitted perfectly once the chin bar is down it tightens. The next size up was to big.
Secondly watch Sportsbikeshop video review on this.
Both points are I believe essential before buying
I personally have always liked scorpion helmets and I am more than pleased with this one. I can run senna comms which was an easy fit also a ghost XL camera with no compromise on the chin bar.
Great helmet , good fit , and the flip over option works a treat , two helmets in one
Had a Scorpion helmet before but this is even better. The flexibility in wearing options, the fit and comfort are great.
This is a great helmet. All the benefited of an open face helmet and a full face with attitude with the combined use of both a tinted visor or clear visor. What else could you ask for . Well thought out .
This is my first modular helmet. Fits well. Being able to lick the chin bar behind the helmet is a massive plus. Airflow isn't great to be honest. But I bought it for its versatility. Quite too
Comfortable helmet with air vents, pin lock & looks ok too. I’m pleased with my purchase.
Great fit and value . Service and delivery excellent
Quieter than my old Caberg. More comfortable as well. Not exactly premium money either. Visor opening is a bit fiddly with winter gloves.
Excellent fitting helmet that is comfortable. Quality looks good so far. It comes with a pin lock to prevent fogging. Some reviews on other sites mentioned noise but I didn't think it was worse than my previous Shark helmet but I often wear ear plugs. Great service from sportsbikeshop as usual.
I have 3 scorpion helmets, 2 are great helmets, tried this one once wind noise on one side was terrible, might be a fault with this helmet, unfortunately I didn't have the original box for the helmet and had worn it once so Sportsbikeshop would not honour a refund. Stuck with near £300 helmet I can't use.
As always, great service from SBS. Ordered in several helmets in different sizes to try before buying.
This helmet is very comfortable and is sized accurately for me (Size M) with a slightly oval shape.
Slightly nosier than my previous full face helmet and a tiny bit heavier but not uncomfortably so.
This is my second Scorpion helmet and would recommend the brand and this helmet to anyone interested in a modular helmet.
Went to SBS to buy a new helmet having reserved one on line the night before and read all the reviews.
The reserved item was duly presented but trying it on presented a problem - the flip lid trim came loose! This was the same for all three in stock - and the display unit.
Not the fault of SBS but in my opinion a manufacturing problem and one which they acknowledged - the Branch Manager and Staff on duty will deal with but are now aware of.
So my purchase was a ECE 22.06 Scorpion Exo flip front - the same as I have but 22.06 is now better than my 22.05 version.
Once again SBS service levels, assistance knowledge and valuable help confirms I need go nowhere else for all my biking requirements. Thank you SBS
It's one of the best helmets I ever owned
Feels like a great helmet. Tighter fit than Neotec 2 but not uncomfortable. Much lighter and great flip over design. Marked as good as SBS seem to be a bit of a victim of their own great returns policy. Box was ripped, missing a lid lug and the manual had been thumbed through. I did send pics as requested but didn't get a reply. In fairness I did say I didn't want to return the item so it won't stop me using them in the future. They are still the best out there and was possibly unlucky in this case.
Very well built, solid helmet. Very good functionality around managing the flip up release and sun visor - I can easily manage both with winter gloves on (tested going around northern Scotland recently!). Having the catch that also lets you ride with the helmet fully up is also a bonus, though I tend to only use that when talking/buying petrol, etc. Visor is really clear, with good width of vision. There are a couple of reviews mentioning wind noise - yes, it's not the quietest helmet, but if I compare it to my Nolan fixed full face helmet it's no noisier. So, if you want a really quiet helmet this probably isn't for you, but if you want a really well built and function friendly one then this is great.
