Advice & Guides You'd be surprised how many riders wear a helmet that's too big for them. Here's how to tell if a lid really fits you...

Customers have shared mixed reviews about the Caberg helmets. Many praised the comfortable fit and affordability, appreciating features like the pinlock insert and sun visor. There were positive remarks about its quietness, although some found it noisier compared to other brands. A few customers noted minor issues with the pinlock and ventilation, while others appreciated its stylish design and snug fit. Despite some drawbacks, overall, the helmets are valued for their practicality and cost-effectiveness.
I must have spent a good 6 months looking for a helmet replacement for my aging Duke 2. I've always had Caberg so I wanted to try something new. But nothing at any price point fits me better than a Caberg it seems.
So for the Tourmax X, I would say it's mildly higher on wind noise than the Duke 2. This might be caused by the peak as I'm yet to try it without. I was missing the alternative short screws to run it without the visor, but SBS wasted no time getting those from Caberg for me. Amazing service as always. It also came with a damaged pinlock which, again, SBS replaced in just a couple of days.
All flip-ups are noisy, so I can live with that. Ventilation is good but not too breezy for winter riding either.
Caberg flip-ups have a much shorter cheek padding area than most, which is great for comfort, but does make me wonder how that would play out in an impact. That being said, it has a 5 star Sharp rating, something that can't be said for many helmets much more expensive.
I love the price point. I can have 2 or 3 of these for the same price as a single Shoei or Schuberth.
It's worth noting that, although this helmet is basically identical to the Duke X but with a peak, it has the advantage of coming with a Pinlock 70 rather than a 30 on the Duke X. The difference in visibility between the two is huge, so it's well worth paying the extra for the Tourmax X even if you don't want the peak.
I bought this with the peak to avoid dazzle riding low sun and it works well. This is my 3rd Caberg and as its good value means I can change it every two years without braking the bank. The Sharp helmet rating gave it five stars, more than my partners Schuberth C3 that cost a lot more.
Second one of these I've had, flip up works great, its comfortable and looks great. Good space inside for jbl speakers, a little noisy at speed but that's to be expected being a flip helmet. Overall great value for money.
The helmet is very comfortable with good sidewards visibility. I was surprised how quite it is in comparison with the lower budget helmet it replaced. The only downside is that the chin is a bit awkward to operate.
I bought the Caberg as I regard the helmets as a long established brand and a leading brand when it comes to flip-front helmets. All round it is a decent helmet, comfortable for me and with average wind noise levels I would say. I liked that it came with a pinlock anti-mist insert and the visibilty from the helmet is good. The drawbacks I found were: #1 poor ventilation, I can't tell any difference between the top vent being open or closed, I found the poor ventilation problematic on my recent trip to southern France where temps were in tbe 30s. The second niggle is that I find the flip-front occasionally locks in the up position of its own accord. Annoying in that you have to pull over and remove the helmet to rectify the issue.
Helmet is light in weight and the mechanisms work well to open the visor/face plate. It's a bit noisier than I am used to, but decent earplugs sorted that out. It comes up a bit big and I would have liked more cheek padding. Would recommend
I've used Caberg helmets now for several years and always found them stylish, durable and good value. They start to look tired at the 5 year mark but that's renewal time so it's not an issue. I can also order my usual size and be confident that it will fit snugly.
Great helmet unfortunately had a faulty pin lock
Still waiting on a replacement
I ordered this helmet and it turned up damaged slightly which was not ideal but I got hold of them and they swapped it out for a new one no questions asked . An absolute dream to deal with 5⭐️service I will be using them again for anything I need
Needed a new helmet, already had 2 caberg helmet. So why change, they fit me well are also comfortable.
Flip up helmets aren't everyone's cup a tea but since I got one, can't live without one now.
Fantastic service from Sportsbikeshop to deliver this excellent helmet. Price is exceptional and the spec outstanding. I have Shoei,HGV,HJC and Bell helmets and this is the most comfortable
Bought this helmet to replace my Caberg Duke II. I like the Caberg helmets as they are easy to put on, comfortable and at a very good price point.
The Tourmax has a peak, which is a great bonus riding into the sun and helps keep glare off the visor.
Really pleased with this, and found it relatively easy to attach the pinsert and to install my Cardo headset.
I got this helmet as a second helmet to use during the summer as I wanted a flip-up helmet with a sun-shield and built in dark-visor.
This seems to be the ONLY helmet that has all three of these features.
The build-in dark visor is really easy to flip down, both with the helmet open or closed.
The visor itself is anti-scratch, which is great, and is really easy to move up and down.
The helmet can be used with the front wither open or closed and it is great, having always had full-face helmets, to ride with the wind on your face in the warmer weather.
With the flip-front down, it is much closed to my chin than my Shoei helmet and does feel a bit restrictive - maybe I just have a large chin!
The size is good and it fits well.
I've fitted my headset and microphone to the helmet, which is a bit fiddly as the lining isn't as easy to remove as on my Shoei and routing the wires was a bit of a pain. It is a wee bit noisier that my Shoei as well, but not too bad.
The weight is good overall. With the flip-front open, you do notice a bit of weight bias to the front, but it isn't too bad (although it does look a bit wierd riding with it open).
At higher motorway speeds, the sun-shield does vibrate a bit, which is annoying, but I think if I just wedge some pieces of foam under the visor near the mounting point it will cure this.
Overall the helmet is a great one for the price!
Great quality perfect fit (medium)
Does exactly what it's supposed to good price 5 out of 5
Light, wind noise at a minimum, easy to install Bluetooth intercom, pin lock excellent, peak is easy to remove separate screws provided for this. Comfy helmet not pressing on cheeks . Flip up is a little stiff at first otherwise excellent value for an excellent helmet
Very well made as usual. From caberg.
