Laminated waterproofing is taking over the world. Our video runs through our top options
Simply does exactly what it says on the tin excellent.
Living in NE Scotland, a jackets ability to keep water out I pretty high on the priority list. The Oxford laminated jacket has not let a drop on over many thousands of miles.
Great fit and finish. Well appointed and the cuffs are a real winning detail, especially if you prefer short gloves. Ventilation is good as the vents are not restricted by internal liners.
Although, i choose not to use the thermal liner, it is well attached to the shell and a good addition.
One very minor observations, the main pockets are good but the opening is relatively small if you’ve got big hands. The only detail that Oxford seem to have got wrong is the storm collar. It’s so limp and poorly defined I find it absolutely unusable. (The one on the Merlin laminated jacket is streets ahead of it, but overall not a match for the jacket in other areas).
Overall, I’d recommend it to anyone as an all weather jacket.
Bought this to replace an old RST adventure suit. Water basically runs off it…been in heavy rain in the Pyrenees and bright sunshine, vents work great and excellent quality
Keeps me warm and dry, all the pockets work well, kept my phone dry after a monsoon...
The XL fitted my 6' 42 - 44" chest perfectly. Double cuffs enable gloves to be worn inside or outside, great feature in the rain.
After a couple of hours 4-5 degrees with only a base layer I kept warm and dry.
Im very pleased the the overall quality and fit, for me a gamechanger with easily accessible pockets and so much more comfortable than my leather jacket.
Excellent quality at this price point not tested waterproofing yet but sleeve cuffs are good with winter gloves thermal liner fits well but sleeve attachment is fiddly and difficult to reattach a back protector included would have been good ,but at only £20 not a deal maker
Wife bought me this jacket and matching trousers for Christmas and I am very pleased so far. Great fit and very comfortable. Have ridden for a couple of hours, temperature was 5 degrees and I stayed warm. I Have not tested in the rain yet but it looks and feels like it should do the job
Recently purchased, the jacket seems to be well made and designed on traditional touring jacket lines. I've just used it on a very wet and muddy three day trip around mid and north Wales and it performed very well, completely water and wind proof - as it should be. The good points : well made, quality fabrics thoughtfully positioned, decently sized external pockets, elasticated internal cuffs keeps wind and wet out at the wrist, detachable storm collar, rating of the armour. Not so good, number of internal pockets, at this price point you might expect back armour to be included.
