Richa Typhoon Rain Overall - Fluo Yellow
Customer Product Reviews
Superb bit of kit...
After having cheap waterproofs in the past, this arrived just prior to a European excursion and I was most impressed. Admittedly the kit only got used briefly (extremely lucky) but it's easy enough to get on and off and seems extremely waterproof and good quality. My only comment is around the 'intelligent sizing' , i.e order the size you are.. I decided to ignore this based upon past events and was wise to. Although the sizes are quite large, in an attempt to fit over a layer of clothes. I ordered a size up and was glad I did. The fact you're likely going to fit this over your motorcycle jacket means you need the larger size, especially to get it over your shoulders as it's a one piece after all.
Strong first impression
I'm yet to try out the overall but my first impressions are great. The material is strong and it fits over my textiles like a glove. First impressions are very strong! I am 6ft 1 and I went for the Medium which fits nice and snug, I would consider getting the Large if I were to buy it again.
Perfect item for your gear bag
This suit is roomy, yet stores away very compact. It is a good addition to any gearbag and when moving around town. The cuffs, unzip open and easily stretch over your boots. Only complaint is that the collar is a bit too snug especially when putting on over a jacket. Also, it is a bit thick - so you're a bit screwed in warmer weather. The water does not penetrate the jacket, though I am not sure how it will be upon further use. Overall, for about 40 quid - this is probably the best you'll get for your money.
As yet untried on the road
Suit is well made with good quality materials but as yet not used on the road. I originally purchased a size 2XL which is one size up from my leathers size 56 but it was to big. I exchanged it for a size XL which is a good fit. Excellent service from Sportsbikeshop.
Bought this as a biker in Scotland on the basis of strong reviews. Have not actually worn it in anger (i.e. in heavy rain) but looks well made and goes on easily. Bit of a stretch to say it folds into a neat bag. This is a lining within the inside pocket and is quite bulky once packed.
Very well made, nice thick material, strong zips and Velcro to fasten and large inner storm flap to keep water out. Fits well over jacket and elastic waist keeps it tight so no flapping in the wind. My only issue is the bag (pocket) it folds into. I thought it would be separate from the suit, but it is attached. Its basically a large inner pocket that you can scrunch it inwards into. It fits in OK, but for me I prefer to fold and roll so I'm using a separate waterproof bag. That way anything I'm carrying can go into the bag if its proper chucking it down. Other than that, looks like its going to be a worthwhile purchase.
I bought this rain suit after reading many reviews I'm 6ft 1, 14 stone I'sh and bought XL fit is okay but maybe XXL would have been better depending on what you have underneath. It would have been nice for the bag it folds into to be bigger as it's a tight fit, not used in heavy rain yet but a nice suit.
Not used in the rain yet but good quality. Had issue with leg length, sat on bike as I wear 3/4 puma boots. I'm 5'9 inches, average leg length and although I went for the Medium then Large to try and increase leg length I eventually had to go for XL and then only barely resolved it by partially opening the lower Velcro and zip to limit the riding up the leg. Also took ages to get it into the pocket.. Otherwise a damn fine purchase.
