Rukka Outlast Long Johns
Customer Product Reviews
Should've bought two!
Bought this to do a 7 day trip to Spain. Wearing long johns in 30 degree heat seems odd but they worked. Kept me cooler than on previous trips, also your trousers/leathers don't stick to you. A quick swill in the shower and they were dry for the next day.
A versatile choice
Perhaps not as warm as the merino wool, but very versatile. Stop off at a services for a cuppa to get your fingers warm again and it will store up the heat to feed back to you when you get on your way. Same when you slow down for a town and then head off out again on the open road. Fit is true to size.
I was a bit doubtful about spending this amount of money on a pair of long johns. Must say very impressed, the sizing is spot on and they are so comfortable you hardly know you are wearing them. They breathe very well and despite being used in very warm weather I have not had sweaty or clammy legs. They have been used in a range of temperatures and appear to work very well. A sound investment and dare I say it worth the money as well. Highly recommended.
Tec riding gear that works
As I write this review I'm on a trip from Belgium to Switzerland and back. The temperature in Germany was 30 degrees and in the Swiss alps 9 degrees. The Outlast gear worked well in both temperatures. I washed them out in the shower and hung them to dry for the next days ride, meaning I can travel light without the need to carry lots of tops. Perfect, would definitely recommend.
Hot or Cold
This is the second pair l have purchased. Really comfortable in both hot and cold conditions. Wore them on trip to Spain and Portugal they worked really well, dry in hot conditions and warm when up in mountains. Haven't gone bobbly like some other brands I have used.
Great for keeping the chill away
Great under garment very nice fitting keeps the chill away when you really don't want to be wearing those heavier original trouser thermals. Rukka quality. A little expensive but well worth the extra if you're looking for something to last and work well in lower than expected temperatures.
New material designed by NASA
New material designed by NASA for space missions where they go from hot to cold environments. You can experience the same on a bike when you stop in traffic, at lights or filling station. I bought top and leggings to go under the Rukka Nivala suit and to compare with Marino base layer. Also used them winter walking in the Peak District. So far they have worked a treat. Not sure if I'd wear in summer as that might be too hot, but will try next year. Great service from Sportsbikeshop.
I bought both the shirt and long johns. I have the Merino wool gear was interested to see the difference in the outlast material. V impressed, perhaps just a tad warm over the last couple of days in traffic or at a standstill, but lets be honest most of the time the UK isn't that hot or that dry....
