TomTom Motorcycle GPS

A replacement for my TomTom 400. Seems quicker probably due to its new processor. Fits on my existing mount.

Compact size, ideal for my motorbike.
Easily pairs with my helmet Bluetooth headphones.

Needed a replacement charging/support cradle for my TomTom Rider 550. The cradle steps the 12v down to 5v and monitors the level of charge in the unit so quite complicated bit of kit despite appearances. The tiny sprung copper pins making the connection can fracture from their soldering inside the cradle. First one I had lasted 8 years, next one 2 so luck of the draw. This one was by way the best price online, is a genuine Tomtom part and is working perfectly so very happy to have my satnav running properly again and not shutting down after every pothole! Prompt delivery too.

Great piece of mind security item, it really does what it says and highly recommended.

Has an option of offering you 3 twisty routes to a destination which is brilliant when running in a new bike and you want to stay off busy roads.
Display and interface seem fairly easy to use.

Unit feels really robust and the mounting system is solid and secure. It was thoroughly tested in hideous weather from Scotland via Belfast to the southern tip of Ireland and back on a big old vintage V twin and got me exactly to where I wanted to be.

The only issue I have s that the text is a little too small for my aging eyes and it cannot be made bigger. Not a problem when stopped and setting etc. But just a little too small to read on the move with a rain soaked visor or wind lashed eyes. That said, the map is clear and with no delay so you always make the turn.

I should have bought one years ago.
