Versatile and functional
21 Apr 2026 by Anonymous
I have a lot of bike gear and commute to work a lot. I’ve always wanted a versatile jacket that deals with the uk weather which as we know is often very unpredictable. This provides you with two very different options in one product. The inner armour jacket is extremely vented. I rode in 12c the other day and was almost too cold but it’s comfortable and looks smart with plenty of protection. When it reaches hotter days, this will be perfect. Add to that the 3l waterproof and therefore windproof jacket and it covers all bases. You could layer up for more warmth when needed. The jacket is quality. It feels as good as some of my non biking walking waterproof coats. It’s robust and very functional. I really like how simple this concept is. Simply zip the jackets together and you’re done. No buttons or Velcro. Simple. It takes seconds.
What I don’t like. As always with hooded jackets, the collar is high, the jacket is stiff (which is a good thing) but this makes the meeting point between the helmet and collar a little cumbersome when turning your head. I’m sure it may soften up in time and become less of a problem as small as that problem is. I’m being picky. It could do with some softer material at the chin or round the neck to help with this but wear a buff and it does the job.
I bought the gry or more like off white version and I love the two tone look of it. Very visually noticeable which I wanted for the road. Loads of pockets. And the cuff loops are spot on, I actual wear them in my gloves and you don’t notice them. Most other jackets I have with these, I tuck away because they’re too short and uncomfortable.
All in all a top purchase which I’ve worn several times anlready and can see this being my go to commuter jacket. Of note the jacket doesn’t fold small, so if you’re stowing it in a bag it will take up space but it’s worth having with you for that changing weather, as I’ve found out already.

Description
Tap into the spirit of adventure travel with the Tectonic H2O jacket. A modular yet climate-adaptable garment that's ready to take you to places you've always wanted to go.
Rev'it took some of their best ADV off-road ideas, along with those from their ADV touring end of the scale, and mixed them to create a jacket known as the Tectonic H2O. A smart layering system that allows riders to enjoy full airflow when needed, but also waterproofing and breathability should the weather take a turn for the worse.
Keeping things fresh is a subtle print on the outer shell, along with tasteful colour blocking and very defined lines. And speaking of outer shells, the Tectonic H2O is constructed of a durable 3L polyester ripstop along with 3L hydratex waterproofing, to keep the rain out when it starts to pour. It's then coupled with an inner PWR|Shell mesh jacket to allow air to flow toward the body on the days when you need it the most. Zip them together and add your own favourite base (or mid) layer, and that's a recipe for success. It's important to note that the waterproof jacket does not have included armour, it is however CE Class B certified, and it is not meant to be worn as a standalone piece when riding, but acts as the waterproofing layer over the CE Class AA mesh jacket.
While the fixed hood of the Tectonic H2O jacket might not be detachable, Rev'it found a smart way to tuck it away, so it doesn't flap around in the wind when you don't want it to. Simply cinch the drawcord in, roll it into itself, close the zip at the collar, and you're good to go. Need the hood because of inclement weather? No problem, just unzip the collar and roll it out. Ventilation on the outer shell can be found inside the arms, a panel along the centre front, and exhaust vents behind. And to give riders that extra bit of personal touch, a hook & loop patch area along the upper arm of the outer shell allows you to swap out your different patches whenever you want. You can even store those patches in the various pockets, or the large stash pocket at the lower back.
