Verified Customer Reviews for Oxford Protex Stretch Outdoor Bike Cover
I have bought many covers throughout the years and they were all disappointing. This cover is truly the goat of all bike covers. It costs more than the average £20-£30 cover from Amazon but it's worth each £ spent. Very impressed.
Also liked how it feels at touch and the fact that you can lock both front and rear with chains.
I am using an Oxford Beast chain and beast lock at the front without any issues despite being a giant chain.
I've had several of these for my bikes over the years. They are soft on the inside so good for the bike, but strong and fully waterproof.
The stretch element keeps it taught so there are no dips where water could pool.
I'd give it 5 stars but I find the clasp that goes under the bike always comes away from the cover.
My 3rd cover, all for different size bikes. Excellent as always. A great bike protector which also improves security - I wouldn't buy any other cover
This cover has been on since July 10th, bike is kept outside in UK.
I removed cover today 4th Oct to start bike, can't praise this cover enough the bike was still clean, no water marks it's as if the bike was kept inside, no dust.
Highly recommended.
Fits a Grom snugly, even with a rear rack. This is my 3rd Protex cover, all supplied by Sportsbikeshop (as they've always had the best price) I won't use any other.
2nd I've bought and great quality and thank you to SBS for bearing with me while I went through 3 sizes. Started with a medium for a BMW R1250R as its a naked but didn't allow for extra length added by the luggage grid, large too tight front to back, XL needed for the bike's length, although a bit baggy along the sides as a consequence. Nice weighty cover though.
As this is the 4th I have bought, I'm obviously impressed. Only issue I've had was some dodgy stitching on the s/panel stitching on one. Not bad enough to return, but something to keep an eye out for.
Good cover - bought a medium for my trident 660 I keep outdoors. Waterproof (so far), stretchy, smooth inside so not worried about scratches, bit of a squeeze to get on with bar end mirrors but cover extends down to just over the break disks . As usual rapid delivery from SBS.
Excellent product, great service from SBS
Having previously had standard covers which have caught the wind & caused bikes to go over, I decided to try a stretch one.
In the end bought 3, a Medium, Large & XL. Still swapping them around between the bikes (Blackbird 1100xx, ZX-9R & Honda 125 scoot) to get the best fit. The little Honda has a topbox, so the medium is too small. The bigger bikes often have soft luggage changed between them.
Does have a nice feel, & the solar panel pouch is a good idea - I have now bought a couple of them to keep the larger bikes batteries 'topped up' as they do less miles than the commuter 125.
Don't forget it is recommended to reproof every 6 months or so.
Always use Oxford covers. This one is really good because it has a bit of stretch in it, well made and looks like it will last. The cover does need re waterproofing, which I didn't know about till saw it on paperwork (who reads paperwork on a cover!) but that makes sense to me to keep my bike nice and dry. The panel for solariser is very good.
Quite expensive even with it being in the sale but it's worth it I think - fits well on my GSR 750 - nice and stretchy but also tight - I bought a Medium.
Really nice, premium feel to this cover. Lovely stretchy material. Keeping my Forza 750 bone dry. Easy to put on though I can't get it over my top box. If I could, I'd leave top box on so this is a bit of a shame. But it goes over the windscreen no problem. Super quick despatch as always from SBS.
Bought a L for a tiger 1200. Too small. Exchanging for an XL but seems good quality
I got this cover for my Royal Enfield Classic 500. My previous one didn't quite cover it all, so I thought I'd go XL, even though it's by no means a huge bike. It covers everything, and the elastic at the bottom tucks round the wheels nicely. It's quite flexible, so you don't feel like you're fighting with it when you put it on like you do with some of them. Very pleased.
I really like this product, I have 2008 R1 and after reading the specs and reviews I got a large one.
The fit is still to lose for it but didn't have choice to return due to needing it as my other cover broke.
After three stormex covers in a row I went for a protex stretch cover as it was reduced. Remains to be seen how long it lasts (usually got 1-2 winters from a stormex) but the snugger fit on my bike, and softer material already seems like a winner. The tighter silhouette also looks better in the driveway.
This is my fourth Oxford cover - the Protex Strech are the best of them IMO.
Because of the stretch material and snug fitting they take less battering when windy. Large fits large cc sports bikes perfectly. I get 2-3 years out of one...the colour fades when they get older but that adds to the security...doesn't look as appealing to any would be thieving scum.
