Velcro may be required

Fitted this into my Oxford Delta 1.0 Air Jacket. The back protector is fine but the closure on the jacket is badly thought out. There are two strips of Velcro sewn into the inside of the jacket liner (one on the top section & one on the bottom section) but no Velcro on the back protector. Result is that the jacket liner pocket tends to gape open and could be easily ripped apart when stuffing your arm into the wrong hole!
Solution - I purchased some 1.5 inch Velcro strip from Amazon to do the job. This cinches the pocket shut. See photos

Way back in the year 2001, I bought a jacket with a flimsy back protector.(At the time, it was the best available to the general public. ) It was a neoprene sponge insert and probably just about useless. Fast forward to 2026 and the Oxford product is the latest material technology you can buy. (Probably!) The back protector is soft and flexible to make it fit your body when it is subjected to gentle pressure. This makes it easy to fit into the jacket and mould around your body shape to make it comfortable to wear. Here is where it gets clever, if you subject it to a shap or sudden impact, the back protector become instantly rigid. I have a lot more confidence that if in the unlikely event of a fall, I'll be as protected as I can be with this protector. As always the selling price and delivery were excellent and likely to draw me back for another purchase soon.

Good value lvl2 back protector

It fits in modern oxford jackets, its level 2, its lighter than their previous model and more mailable to a riders back. It loses a star for the fact that its safety rating doesnt meet T+ and T- as i do use my jackets in the uk winters and Italian summers.
