Advice & Guides If it feels like armour in your bike kit then the law demands it is actually proper, protective armour. Here's how to tell how effective your impact protection is...
I choosed this jacket over RST S1 MaxLite and Oxford Omega. I selected size 14 from all of that and I was looking for a spring to autumn lighter jacket which is waterproof and give me adeqaute protection.
LS2 made of durable oxford 600D textile but it isn't robust or tough - gives better protection than maxlite. It comes with a full sleeved removeable liner instead of gilet only (RST and Oxford). The liner is well made, nice to touch doesn't fell plasticy.
I rather have broad shoulders. I loved the omega's style but it made for smaller shoulders and wider hips while the RST sleeves were too short for me.
I haven't tested it in rain yet (hard to beliebe isn ' it?) however I tried the vent system which tbh wasn't too effective (highway nor town).
All the closures seem to be good qualit, easy to operate, hopefully last for the next 3-5 years.
The jacket has 2 huge side pockets I love.
I am 163cm tall with bigger back and size 14 was perfect. A tiny bit baggy around the waist and tummy but it means I can wear a tick jumper during colder months.
The neck closure is clever, you can botton away when warm. The collar is soft, doesn't limit my neck rotation. The jacket is overall gives a very good range of motion, light to wear (now comparing with my own RST sabre laminated jacket) without sacrificing protection and safety.
