Definitely works but don't expect miracles. Used it in Germany during the 2022 heatwave and it helped. No point in over filling, and be prepared to top up during the day.

Not a dramatic effect, but certainly noticeable. As some have already said, there is nothing to be gained by over filling the vest. I have spent a few days wearing this at 30c + temps and it has worked well for me despite wearing a non-mesh, poorly ventilated jacket.

I've tested it at 32C in Germany with a very ventilated mesh alpinestar jacket also bought at SBS and it does work. 500ml of water does not last a full 10 hour riding day, you have to add more water. Also, every couple of hours it helps greatly if you take it off and hold it upside down and squeeze the remaining water around to evenly redistribute it. Then you can really feel like someone has put a cold wrap around you. I rode a z1000sx sports tourer and didn't get max cooling effect at anything less than around 50-60mph. I expect it would perform a lot better on a crafty naked bike and a lot worse on a bike with a big screen like a Pan European. Overall, it's not as good as the hype, it needs you to attend to it every couple if hours to be at its best, but it does definitely keep you cooler, so I like it and I'm glad I bought it.
